  1. I was right there with you earlier today but so far we've managed to NOPE our way through it! I'm pulling for you!
  2. I feel awful. If it wasn't for the dr's appointment, I wouldn't even go. I guess I have to face the real world at some point I'm just not sure today is the day. Ugh, this sucks.
  3. I'm going out of the house today for the first time since I quit. I feel strong as ever and no real desire to smoke...when I'm at home. I live rurally so even when I get a craving, it takes so long to get to a store that I can work through it before I'm ever in danger of actually buying a pack of smokes. But today I have to go out and run errands and I'm terrified! I'm a very impulsive person and I'm so afraid I'll be out and about and just say, totally out of the blue, "Oh forget it, I'm done with quitting." and stop at the next gas station for a pack. Any strength and willpower you could throw this way will be appreciated!

    The Last Game

A beer three nights ago followed by eggnog and spiced rum. Yay Christmas! The last time you took a selfie.
  6. Reach for some on popcorn or carrots etc.
  7. Week 1 day 2 of couch to 5k app.
  8. Eleven months! Awesome! Congratulations!
  9. My prayers are with you.
  10. True! TPBM hates turkey for Christmas dinner.
  11. Help
  12. I don't have many days under my belt yet and I don't know your story but I want to be here and support you anyway!
  13. My worst craving is still my morning cigarette. I feel like that was my big motivator to get up and get moving and now it's gone. I just lay there in bed, not wanting to get up. I hate mornings.
  14. Something good? How about the fact I'm still not smoking! Me? Hard to believe. I went running yesterday and plan to tomorrow (in the beginning I go every other day), even if it's raining. Running is weird thing with me, I've always enjoyed it until my lungs couldn't take it anymore, usually after just a few minutes. I swear my run yesterday was better and my lungs outlasted my legs. It might be psychosomatic but I swear I felt better. I'm in terrible shape but I've always had a goal of running a 5k but as a chain smoker, it felt impossible. I feel like the 5k is a motivator for me to hang on to this quit!
  15. In lazy years we don't even put ornaments on, we just let the lights twinkle instead.
  16. No running today, just a walk in the cold drizzly weather.
  17. I'm less than two weeks quit and it concerns me how much time I spend on QT and whyquit.com. I worry that I'm obsessing on the subject of smoking. But maybe it's a good thing. Now, instead of smoking a cigarette with my morning coffee, I check out QT. When I get bored, which is a lot these days, I log on here or whyquit instead of smoking. Stuff like that. So yeah, smoking is always at the forefront of my mind but it most likely would have been anyway! But instead of craving a cigarette and wishing I hadn't quit, I feel like I'm celebrating my quit. Yes it's thinking about smoking but the quit aspect of it makes it a healthy thing for me. I just rambled but I hope eventually I got my point across.
  18. Lots of walking and some running with couch to 5k app.
  19. One month, great job!
  20. Yay for two weeks, well done!
  21. Great job on two weeks!
  22. Thank you everyone for your feedback (and the PDF!).
  23. I've seen the Allen Carr video, the one that's an hour long, and I really enjoyed it. Is it worth buying his book too? Will I get any additional information?
  24. As a newbie, it's helpful to read about that light at the end of the tunnel! What a wonderful and inspirational post!
  25. Quit train camp sounds perfect! A few days voluntarily spent away from the daily stress of life in a extremely supportive environment seems like a wonderful place!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
