  1. Congratulations on eleven months!
  2. Marti, ten months. Congratulations! You are such an awesome, supportive, and caring person so I hope you celebrated with your take away last night! Great job!
  3. I have just a few pages left of Carr's book and I've enjoyed it very much. It was taking a look at smoking in a way I hadn't thought of before. I totally recommend.
  4. Welcome aboard Nippy!
  5. Welcome to QT. I'm fairly new here too and I have found this site to be invaluable, so glad you joined.
  6. Great job on a week, keep it up!
  7. I'm sorry to hear of your relapse but I'm sure you'll be able to make it past seven months...regardless of how you get there.
  8. Another post with good timing as I feel like I'm somewhat slipping away. I pledge to keep with it for a year. Every morning with my coffee, instead of a cigarette I will come to the board.
  9. I really needed to hear this right now. I'm constantly romancing the cigarette and it's what made me relapse a week and a half ago. Everybody said that the cravings will pass but I felt like they just wouldn't! I felt, and sometimes still feel, like I'm fighting every moment of the day to stay quit. The rational mind just goes out the window. I have a huge hurdle this weekend...I'll be alone which is a trigger for me...and your post will hopefully help me through it. It's good to dear that the cravings, or romancing the cigarette, takes a long time to subside for some people but even for those of us who take a while, they WILL go away. Thank you, thank you.
  10. Good to hear you're still going strong!
  11. How wonderful it is that your quit is going well!
  12. I'm sorry to hear about your relapse but whatever you do, don't give up! Perhaps Chantix is what will get you over the hump. I'm feeling for you.
  13. Oh my god I've been to that airport too and it was the worst airport smoking lounge I've ever been to. Did they even have a ventilation system? But like you said, I sat in the middle of a crowded room filled with filthy smoke just to get my fix. Lord knows how badly I smelled when I left. Yuck.
  14. I'm somewhat new here as well but in the time that I've been here, I've found this site to be invaluable in getting through the hard times. A couple SOS's and one relapse later and the folks here are supportive as ever. Good luck and welcome to QT,
  15. Hahaha, love it! Happy new year!
  16. Awesome job on one week!
  17. Yes! If you're lurking come join and keep me company...I'm a newbie too!
  18. Wow, a whole year! Hard for a newbie like me to imagine. I don't really know you but am proud of you anyway. Congratulations!
  19. What a great post. The timing is perfect as my relapse and subsequent immediate re-quit is still just a few days old and is a bit shaky. Thanks for bumping it.
  20. Congratulations on your quit! I was doing the patches too but on day five, I totally forgot to put a new one on. When I realized it I just said to heck with it, I'll quit without it! You know what? It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Good job and keep it up!
  21. There's no way I could quit without the support of QT. they've been extremely patient with my many posts...they reply with heartfelt encouragement and will chat with me tirelessly when I'm having a bad day. I think sticking close to the board while you quit is the best way to go.
  22. I'm not much into cosmetics but I think it's wonderful that you have found something you love to reward yourself!
  23. Here
  24. I'm so sorry to hear such news. My thoughts are with you and your family.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
