  2. Saw them in Atlanta ... '88 maybe? It was a triple bill show: Ratt, Poison, Tesla. The Sarge loves him some BigHair80's - and Tesla is at the top of his list. The Top. Easy Peasy
  3. Eleventy-Two! Easy Peasy
  4. The Sarge gave out prescriptions yesterday - where were you? The fact that you would type such nonsense worries The Sarge. You are way past that. Way. Easy Peasy
  5. Wait - this isn't a thing anymore? Does The Sarge have to procure a lunch box now? Easy Peasy
  6. It's all over the interwebs. Here is a direct link to a text version. Easy Peasy
  7. Cheezy Squeezy
  8. So these guys had it wrong the whole time, huh? :P In all seriousness, Jonny's right and in The Sarge's case, it took all three: "... sometimes it takes positive thinking, sometimes it takes having the guts to push through our own personal discomfort, sometimes it takes time." Easy Peasy
  9. Mrs Sarge recently posed with The Bronze Fonz in downtown Milwaukee. Does that count?
  10. So ... do we hand out the Mosquito Wings tomorrow or what? You just kinda disappeared with no updates, Juan. Easy Peasy
  11. Don't know about "famous", but The Sarge chatted with This Chick[1] in the Atlanta Airport way back in 1988 when he was still The Private. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M1mZz9-aJM Easy Peasy FOOTNOTE: [1] Would rather have had the 20 minutes with Ozzy.
  12. Yeah - The Sarge - he is an acquired taste[1], isn't he? Easy Peasy FOOTNOTE: [1] that many may never acquire.
  13. In celebration of BOTH ( a ) Earth Day AND ( b ) Arbor Day this week: The Sarge planted 50 Great Eastern White Pine (Pinus Strobus) 2nd year seedlings and added 10 trees to The Orchard. Plus he's still got the Joshua Tree Seedling Project going. What did you do? Yes - you![1] Easy Peasy FOOTNOTE: [1] All of you
  14. All aboard the QuitTrain. Hands and arms inside the car at all times. Please secure loose items. The Train will be departing for Quittsville momentarily. Enjoy the ride! Easy Peasy EDIT: since you are the 111th passenger on The Train, The Sarge will call you "Eleventy One".
  15. How were Waffles made before the invention of the Waffle Iron?

    1. Nancy

      Nancy

Which begs the question...which came first, the waffle or the iron?

      Well said.

  16. "Ahem" Easy Peasy
  17. You smoked for years (decades ?!?!) ? It could take months for things to settle down. MONTHS. The Sarge promises it will clear up and go away. He promises. Easy Peasy
  18. The Sarge can lose 4 in one run (just a couple hours) - mostly water but on a long 20+ miler can lose a pound of actual weight + 2 or 3 in water/sweat. Fun Fact: The average person craps 2 pounds a day. 4-ish pound swing in a day ain't out of the realm of "normal" Happy Crappy
  19. It's TOTALLY inexpensive if you learn to DIY. Mrs Sarge and I started doing our own once a week 'cause we thought same: too pricey. Low Cal? Anything is low calorie if you portion it the right way. Easy Peasy
  20. It really tied the room together ...

      He peed on your rug?

  21. That's the beauty of running: you can do whatever you want to and still make improvements - as long as you continue to run and don't bail out back to a lifetime on the couch. The Sarge's official recommendation: do whatever you want, as long as you take it easy and don't push to injury. Run, walk, hell - skip or do an Irish Jig if you want ... Just start logging miles and don't stop. Easy Peasy
  22. The last time The Sarge had tests in a hospital - he was sure he was gonna die ... Turns out he only lost his right nut. [1] Easy Peasy FOOTNOTE: [1] That didn't really help, did it? :P
  23. The Sarge is avoiding again today. Training schedule says "moderate, mid-distance". Specifically, The Sarge decided in a sub-49 minute 10k (6.2 miles) (7:55-ish pace) ... but has been putting it off all day. There's only 3 hours left in the day. How long can he avoid? Easy Peasy EDIT: Update: Here's your failure DevilDoll - the Sarge's daily failure x 2. Failure The First: Didn't run on Monday. The run finished at 12:08 - Tuesday morning. Failure The Second: Finished in 49:18 - didn't make the required sub-49. 10k (6.2 miles) Treadmill: 1% grade @ 49:18 (7:57/mile)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
