  1. Stop by Sarge's place near Cincinnati. Then Sarge can meet Bacon and offer some windows to lick. Easy Peasy
  2. LOLwut ? Easy Peasy
  3. That's US Army First Sergeant. Commonly called "Top" by the enlisted troops under him. Congratulations on the promotion, Top. Easy Peasy
  4. Sarge doesn't wonder. He knows. With professional, medical grade diagnoses [plural]. Nothin serious[yet] but very permanent and uncorrectable Easy Peasy
  5. Sarge's money is on: neither. It's unrelated. Ask your Doc, not a bunch of strangers on the interwebs. Easy Peasy
  6. Every time you think you want to smoke, go run an all-out, full-speed, race pace mile. A sucking wind, oxygen debt, exceeding VO2-Max, gasping for air, as fast as you can mile. Betcha won't still want a smoke for a while. It's how The Sarge quit ... and he's still running the occasional full-monte, 26.2 marathon more than 5 years later. You can buy a killer treadmill for less than the first 6-month's worth of savings from not purchasing smokes daily. Easy Peasy
  7. She's not an addict, remember? Says so herself. Easy Peasy
  8. In every aspect of life - quitting smoking, quitting ANY addiction, job, education, fitness, nutrition, work, relationships, getting shit done, weight loss, strength training, endurance training, accomplishing goals, learning, earning - in EVERY DAMNED THING you can think of, the more Suckage you learn embrace, welcome, and endure ... the better off you'll be than the millions who came before and the countless who will come after who can't... stomach a little discomfort. Those who bail out and cave in at the slightest bit of pain [physical, emotional, or mental pain of any sort] are doomed to go nowhere. Embrace. The. Suck. It's the single biggest thing that will put you miles ahead of everybody else in ALL aspects of life. Easy Peasy
  9. Right? Not just here. Not ANYWHERE. Not EVER. For. Any. Reason. Easy Peasy
  10. Finally. Some fooking sense injected into this thread. Easy Peasy
  11. Don't listen to them up there ^^^. They're in cahoots with your inner junkie and you don't need that. Easy Peasy [since farking when do we tell folks to go ahead and smoke fer fux sake - since when?]
  12. What does Sarge think? Absolutely nothing. Not good. Not bad. Not a damned thing. Most times Sarge doesn't even notice them anymore. Just folks in the background doing what everyday folks do. Some smoke. Some don't Doesn't much matter to Sarge either way. Easy Peasy
  13. Then why do you keep doing it? Easy Peasy
  14. Read this: http://whyquit.com/joel/Joel_01_13_gradual_withdrawal.html Easy Peasy
  15. LOLNope. Your first stride, your first step... will be your first day with ZERO cigarettes. Until then, the denial isn't helping. Easy Peasy
  16. You can be where we are ... or you can smoke. You can't have both. Easy Peasy
  17. So run. Run! Sarge guarantees after the first mile-and-a-half you won't be wanting to smoke again for at least 3 or 4 hours. And after that if you still want to smoke, run some more. Keep running until you no longer want to smoke or the anger goes away. Sooner or later both will happen. With or without running. With or without a cigarette. Sooner or later both will happen. You will no longer want to smoke AND the anger goes away. Easy Peasy
  18. Easy Peasy
  19. That's covered in a different thread. https://www.quittrain.com/topic/7605-describe-your-penis-with-a-movie-title/ Easy Peasy
  20. It's a good place to be to not even remember what it was like to smoke. You'll get here, too, folks. You just have to wait it out long enough. Easy Peasy
  21. Jason's birthday is July, Jimmy. Sarge was born the day Jason quit. Easy Peasy [And thanks guys - Sarge forgot until Jimmy reminded him on Jason's Facebook page this morning]
  22. To be fair: Unicorn Farts help. A lot. You just can't count on 'em coming 'round every time you need one. Easy Peasy Smell the rainbow
  23. Every time Sarge wanted a smoke, he hit the basement treadmill for a mile. Takes your mind off it for the immediate 8 to 10 minutes, and kills the urge for the next 2 to 4 hours. There were 1800 [ish] miles logged that first year. ;) Easy Peasy
  24. Sarge still carries around a 20-year-old expired military ID on this day, because on this day: free stuff. ;) Easy Peasy
  25. You don't get it because you are still suffering under the delusion that you are not an addict. When you know that you are an addict, you know why this shit happens. It's baked right into the definition of being an addict. Easy Peasy

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
