  1. Welcome to QT! Great to have you hear and congrats on your quit. :D So inspirational.
  2. I'm making pita pizzas. I will post pictures. :D
  3. Wow, that's sad f.virtue. I'm not at all surprised though. Smoking is a very powerful addiction and most smokers will do anything to get their fix.
  4. I'm seriously bothered by the smell of cigarettes. Even before I became a smoker, I hated the smell and I hated being around people who were smoking. My biggest pet peeve is when someone lights one in front of me and they unknowingly blow smoke in my face. I gag and cough. Blech.
  5. Same here! I had a tooth extracted and was terrified of dry sockets, but I still smoked. I put a gauze over it because, you know, I "needed" to smoke. I remember having a severe case of strep throat. So severe that my tonsils were touching and I could barely breathe, talk, and eat. However, regardless of how painful it was, I STILL smoked. WTF was wrong with me?
  6. Definitely a NOPE day for me!
  7. Colleen, a burger stuffed with cheese sounds amazing. Chrys and Pippa -- yum! I'm going to have to try the mango salad. Did you use any dressing?
  8. I'm downloading music for my workout today and I really enjoy remixes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUO46QOXoJw
  9. Oh my god, he's sooooo cute Doreen! I just want to hold him and give him kisses all over his furry little face. I'm pretty sure I'm a puddle right now.

  11. I love this thread! You all can help me because I am so new to make-up. I bought the Naked 2 palette the other day. For those who own it, what are your thoughts and what eyeshadows out of the palette do you typically use?
  12. Nothing too exciting, but I made baked chicken with olive tapenade and a salad the other night:
  13. Sharon, Colleen, Pippa, and Scott, you're killing me! The food looks amazing.
  14. I'm always lurking, regardless if I post or not!
  15. So excited for you El B!
  16. My sense of smell has heightened so much, and sometimes I hate how much it has! Some people smell really bad.... and I can't stand when someone walks by me after they've had a cigarette. Blech!
  17. I'm happy you quit, regardless of the method you're using. However, as most have stated, ecigs are certainly a crutch and it's something that you will have to give up eventually. Stress is always going to be in your life, regardless of whether you smoke or not. It is not a fix for stress. Just have a plan to "quit" the ecig and don't depend on it for too long. You're off to a great start though. You have quit and now you just have to convince yourself that smoking has nothing to offer you. This can take some time and that's why we're here!
  18. I agree with what everyone has said so far. It is completely normal -- your body is getting rid of all those toxins from the cigarettes, so it's no surprise that there will be crappy days early on. Someone described it as a detox and that's exactly what it is. It takes our bodies a while to adjust to change. It is kind of like when you change your eating habits and you feel terrible for a few days afterwards. Hang in there. Congrats on your quit! :)
  19. Hell NOPE!
  20. Just spray yourself with some Febreeze. I hear that masks the smell of almost anything!
  21. I'm lost too.... What are old fashions and Booyahs? Whatever they are, they sound like fun! I feel like I'm definitely missing out.

    Spring 2015

I wouldn't mind winter if I didn't have snow up to my ass every time I walked outside.
  23. Of course I forgot to take a picture, but last night, I made some really good chicken soup. Steve said it was very filling. We had roast chicken a few nights ago, so I decided to boil my first chicken carcass. That was an experience and it made for way better broth!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
