  1. I seriously just attempted to scratch my nose with a flipping motion... I'm glad no one was home!
  2. Marti, you are incredible and I am so proud of you! 10,000 cigarettes NOT smoked is such a massive accomplishment. I was also one of those smokers that thought I would be a lifer, so when I did quit, people didn't believe me until I was about a year into my quit. Actually, I was at a New Years Eve party (2014) where I asked by a bunch of people if I wanted to go outside for a smoke. They had no idea I had quit. Saying 'no thank you' was an incredible feeling, even almost three years later. Your quit is amazing!
  3. I know this looks like mush, but I made Spanish rice:
  4. I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.
  5. Fiction or non-fiction? (I'm guessing fiction) Most embarrassing story? What was your favourite subject in school? Least favourite? Any weird habits?
  6. Tonight's dinner was pork tenderloin, carrots, steamed broccoli, and couscous.

    Job hunting

I understand your frustration completely Gemma. Job hunting is a full-time job in itself. I have been looking for over a month and have had one interview so far. I just graduated from Human Resources Management in December and I have another college degree as well (plus a bunch of experience), but either I'm overqualified, or I'm underqualified. There doesn't seem to be an inbetween unless I want to work in another soul-sucking call centre. Keep looking. I do agree with Humbled. Everything does happen for a reason. Have you tried going to an employment resource centre? They will be able to look over your resume, they often have seminars on a wide variety of topics, and they may even be able to set up a mock interview with you. Also, start networking as much as you possibly can. Steve was referred (and ultimately hired) to his last two jobs because he has really great connections.
  8. Aw, these pictures are so precious!
  9. Tonight's dinner. Chicken with olive tapenade, roasted sweet potatoes, and a salad.

  12. Oh geez Sally, that sounds like a pretty nasty fall! Here's to hoping for a speedy recovery. I do hope you stop in from time to time. I understand though, but that doesn't mean I won't miss you dearly! Take care and thank you for all your support/kindness.

  19. Pretty pictures, but I despise winter. Our winters are long, cold, and quite dangerous at times. I agree with Joe... stay inside. :P
  20. They don't call it Hellweek for nothing, that's for sure! Congrats to your commitment to your quit. :) Even though there will be difficult days ahead, the freedom of not smoking is the most amazing and satisfying feeling and is definitely worth all the hardships.
  21. Drool!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
