  1. Hi Julie. Welcome to QT! Glad to have you here. :) We're here to help. Ask as many questions as you would like; post as much as you want! Having a good support system can be very helpful/beneficial to your quit and that's what this board is for!
  2. Doing the above recipe today and will also be making this for lunch. I'm thinking about pairing it with a salad because I haven't had a lot to eat today and I'm quite hungry. Picture and recipe taken from Oh She Glows: http://ohsheglows.com/2013/09/15/jumbo-chickpea-pancake-a-high-protein-filling-vegan-breakfast-or-lunch/
  3. I haven't made it yet Scott! :( We had to clean out our cupboards and everything last night because someone in our apartment building has a cockroach infestation. Ugh. Only a month to go before we move! I can't wait to try this though. If I have enough energy tonight, I'll definitely make it and let you know how it turns out. :) I'll even post pictures!
  4. I'm game! I'll send you an invite on Facebook.
  5. Nicely done! :) And I love your attitude -- smoking is definitely not an option! Keep it up.
  6. Will do. :D There is lots of leftovers!

  8. It's going to be a big NOPE for me today!
  9. Nicely said Jackie. I really appreciate everything this forum has done for me. This time around, I know my quit is my sticky/forever quit. Thanks to the QT, I've had a great support system throughout my quit, which has helped me stay focused and committed to NOPE. I'm extremely proud of you Jackie and know you have struggled; I applaud you for not giving up, regardless of what happens. That shows me how serious you are about quitting.
  10. Cashews! I forgot how much I love cashews and I have to stop myself from overindulging. Nom!
  11. Happy Birthday Evelyn! Hope you have a wonderful day. :)
  12. Oh my, I am trying this!

  14. I'm trying this recipe out today. Not sure how it will turn out. It is called Sugar-Free Apple Pie Chia Seed Jam + Breakfast Parfait: YIELD 2 PARFAITS SOAK TIME 1-2 HOURS OR OVERNIGHT PREP TIME 15 MINUTES COOK TIME 20 MINUTES Ingredients: FOR THE JAM (MAKES 1-1.5 CUPS)3 large apples, peeled and diced 3/4 cup 100% pure apple juice 2 tablespoons chia seeds 3/4-1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional) pinch of fine grain sea salt (optional) FOR THE PARFAIT:1/2 cup gluten-free rolled oats 1 + 1/4 cups homemade or store-bought almond milk 2 tablespoons chia seeds 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon sweetener, to taste (optional) Apple Pie Jam (from above) Chopped toasted walnuts (optional) Directions:For the jam: Add all jam ingredients into a medium pot and stir to combine. Bring mixture to a low boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or so. When the apples are fork tender, remove from heat and mash 50% of the mixture to thicken. Set aside to cool. For the vegan overnight oats: Combine the oats, chia seeds, almond milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Whisk to combine. Place in the fridge overnight, or for at least 1-2 hours to thicken. Once the oats are softened and the liquid is mostly absorbed, it's ready. You can thin it out with more milk if needed or thicken it with more chia seeds. To make each parfait: Layer the vegan overnight oats with the apple pie jam, a few spoonfuls of each per layer. Add toasted chopped walnuts on top of each layer if desired. Store leftover jam in an air-tight container or jar in the fridge. Should last for at least 1-2 weeks. 15. Oh fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing. :)
  16. God, I love cheese. Yum!
  17. Yum @ Colleen!
  18. I just finished dinner and am trying not to fall asleep in my computer chair. I'm not feeling well and it's been a busy week. I think we're just going to stay in tonight. I might have a martini (or two) and read and/or watch TV. Tomorrow is more running around.
  19. Okay, here's the deal. I really like this song, but I have no idea why Paul McCartney is there. He's still got his fame and presumably his wealth, so I don't really understand his role in this song. I thought the male voice was Paul's at first... until I watched the video and realized it was Kanye West singing.
  20. I don't know what the hype is all about. I read maybe three chapters of the first book and gave up. Horrible, horrible series. I don't even know how they would turn it into a movie without classifying it as porn.
  21. I made a salad with homemade dressing, I pan-fried chicken with a bunch of seasonings, and I cooked some rice to mix in with the chicken:
  22. I scored a Pacifica eyeshadow in my Ipsy bag last month and I quite like it! OPI is always a great choice. :) Oh geez, no day off until April. 15th? That's ridiculous. :(

    Hi QT Family!!

Glad you're okay Jess and glad to have you back! Sorry to hear about the hard times you've faced recently. :( My brother has had his lung collapse a few times, so I have witnessed the terrible struggle a person goes through not only during the collapse itself, but during the recovery as well. I hope you feel better soon!
  24. Oh geez, I hope you're okay Sharon! The flu is a biatch.
  25. Lol, that must have been quite entertaining though. I feel like I'm interviewing you, but here goes: Biggest accomplishment(s)? Fears? (you may have already answered this) Do you like nail polish? If so, what are your favourite brands/colours? (Sorry, I'm obsessed with nail polish) How about make-up? Any big plans for the weekend?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
