  1. I really, really want some Pringles now. :(
  2. I made a pita pizza for myself with a side salad: Steve made homemade pizza for himself:
  3. Aw Karen, I'm sorry to hear about your relapse. I know how devastating that is. :( It's good that you're being truthful to yourself and you realize that smoking (not even just one) is not an option. I'm also happy to hear you've jumped back on the train. Hugs.
  4. Hell NOPE!
  5. I love these pictures. :) My fur baby Mikey: My two favourite people:
  6. We make poached pears in the crockpot. There are different variations/recipes out there, but this is basically what we do: http://www.spoonandsaucer.com/slow-cooker-poached-pears/ Ingredients 4 pears ¾ cup brown sugar Pinch of cinnamon Special equipment: Slow Cooker (I like this one and this one) Instructions Wash, peel, cut in half and core all the pears. Toss pears, brown sugar and cinnamon together in the slow cooker. Place all pears cut side down in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 90 minutes. Check the pears by sliding a knife into one of them. If it goes in and out smoothly, it's DONE! Put them in a bowl and eat. Or add ice cream and eat. No matter what, EAT them.
  7. Sounds delicious Chrys! I forgot to take a picture as well :(, but I made homemade meatballs and spaghetti. I made the sauce from scratch. No canned sauces for us! Tomorrow, I'm thinking about making this for a dessert. It sounds very easy: http://ohsheglows.com/2014/04/07/almost-instant-chocolate-chia-pudding/
  8. That does not sound like fun to me. I can't even do a regular burpee, but I have a lot of issues with cartilage inflammation. It just sounds like too much for your first day, but what do I know? You are definitely fit -- the instructor just sounds like a total whackjob.
  9. Aaaaand this is why I don't eat them anymore, lol. Once you pop though, you really cannot stop.
  10. Looks good to me Pippa!
  11. Mmm, I love me some Pringles.
  12. They are, but apparently, you have to make sure they are very dry before baking. Otherwise, you may end up making the dreaded soggy kale chip, lol. Mine were pretty crispy. Dinner tonight was homemade soup with wontons:
  13. Unfortunately, not great. I don't think I followed the recipe correctly. It was a complete mess! I'll try again though. :)
  14. Those sound good Babs! I am not a big fan of zucchini, but I would try that! If you have any recipes for the chips, can you post them here? Thank you. :)
  15. I also made Kale chips for the first time ever. They turned out well, but very spicy. I think I accidentally sprinkled a little too much cayenne on them:
  16. Stir-fry tonight. :)
  17. Sorry to hear you're sick Rob! Hope you feel better. The good news is, you have the right mindset and an excellent attitude! I was also one of those smokers who used to smoke regardless of how crappy I felt. Even when I had a migraine, I would force myself to get out of bed and have a cigarette. The addiction had such a hold on us when we were smokers. Quitting shows us how silly we were -- I couldn't even imagine lighting up now while sick. That sounds like a terrible idea to me!
  18. Yummy! I wish I could eat eggs. They make my mouth water whenever I see pictures of eggs, haha.
  19. That curry looks amazing! I'll have to try it some night. :) Definitely let us know what you think.
  20. Dinner for the last two nights. We made tacos tonight and chicken nuggets/carrots/potatoes the night before:
  21. Taking a break from the gym today to clean and pack.
  22. Accountability is a big thing to getting fit! Great idea. :)
  23. I really love this thread! I get so inspired by things people make. :)
  24. I KNEW I recognized that name! Also, you have a really yummy tasting soup named after you. :P
  25. The younger a person is when they quit, the less at risk they are of developing smoking-related illnesses. I have always believed this. I also believe that quitting while you're young can be a bit easier than quitting after 30-40-50+ years of smoking. I wish people my age would quit more often, as tomorrow is never guaranteed -- we are not invincible or free of disease.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
