  2. Hey everyone! I thought I would give a quick update on this because a lot has changed since I last posted. In total, I have lost 136 pounds. Last year at the start of January, I weighed in at 343 pounds. This is by far the heaviest I have ever been. I've always been big (bouncing between 280-290 pounds for most of my adult years), but my weight skyrocketed in 2014. Today, I weigh 207 pounds. I have a long way to go, but I am so proud of my progress. I feel amazing! I have never felt healthier. My big struggle when I was 343 pounds was walking -- my knees constantly hurt, I'd get winded, and my ankles would swell. I was a mess. Now, not so much. I love to walk and can stand for longer than 30 minutes without my ankles swelling. My overall health has improved so much since last year and that's what's most important to me. So, progress pictures because I am a selfie-taking junkie. I know, it's embarrassing to admit!
  3. You are one of the people who truly inspired me to start taking better care of myself. I've been watching your transformation and think it's amazing! I'm glad you realize that everyone loses their oomph - it happens. There's nothing more discouraging than seeing your progress plateau. You rock! You will kick ass!

  17. What a great reason for him to quit! That is so sweet. :) There are so many things that inspired me to quit. I saw what smoking can do to a person; I watched people I love suffer. I wanted to be happy and healthy. I was tired of feeling miserable all the time. I would get sick often and had a terrible cough. I wanted freedom. I felt like my life depended solely on when I was going to be able to smoke and I missed out on so much by constantly thinking about it. Not worth it!

  24. Thank you RF! I feel pretty awesome. :) It's a new sensation for me... I don't normally feel proud of myself, or good about myself!
  25. Aw, thank you! I posted the picture on one of the low carb groups I'm apart of and they kept saying it looked like a mother/daughter picture because I looked younger, hehe.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
