Aww so glad you are staying Raya, I am a numpty at the computing stuff, cant do half the things that some can on here, but its a fantastic little corner of the internet, and its our corner of the internet and its kept me sane many a long long day but all you have to do is reach out and there is always someone here to help you, xxx

  4. If only we could reassure you that once you jump, its not so scary, its just that little tiny bit of determination that you need, please stop sitting on the fence, please stop just dipping your toes in, please stop listening to that voice inside your head, close your eyes and take a deep breath, you will not look back , everyone is welcome, come along to the introductions section and say Hi, one step at a time, that's all it take.............its a bit like walking really, one step at a time..............
  5. While the addiction is strong inside and we are weak sometimes even the thought of dying doesn't deter us from lighting the cigarette, it will not happen to me is what I always used to say, denial in its strongest form. It is only when we become stronger than the addiction itself that we begin to realise smoking kills us we have to fear the nicotine. NOPE

  12. Insomnia affects us all at some point, my remedy I have a 10 year old and Im nearly 50 that is enough to make me sleep for weeks, I also have anti depressants and HRT, throw in a mix of a job, housework, a hyperactive husband and well it speaks for itself, All joking aside insomnia is a horrible affliction, (can I call it that!), we all have to find what works, it will pass, its frustrating at the time and the more we stress the more the insomnia will remain, herbal remedies work wonders if no-one wants to turn to chemical release, hot baths, soothing music, camomile tea, swift whiskey, whatever works just try to go with it, do not force it, stress or worry about it tis all part of the journey and if it becomes too much a short trip to your GP to reassure you that all is well can help too. xx
  13. Wow just realised when I saw my ticker Im 2 months free....................Go me!!! xx
  14. CPK lovely honest post, I remember no man's land last year before I relapsed, it was like wading in a sea of mud, with no real landscape, not knowing what was up, what was down, where to turn, what to do, it was a very very surreal time, as though in a time warp. This time I am well aware of what may or may not be ahead of me and like you I am willing to embrace it, face it head on and see it for what it is another step in my recovery programme. I think you and I should both say BRING IT ON together, we got this and we know that the nicotine is long gone from out lives, although the addiction still lingers, time and dedication is what is needed to rid us of this demon inside. We inflicted the addiction on us and we now need to work through it. Good Work CPK your doing great xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
