  2. Hi Soozie just seen this post, so glad you didnt smoke and you fought the urge to not have one, I have had the most awful 3 weeks of cravings, day in one after the other, its difficult yes but part of the problem is we allow these cravings to take hold and once they take hold its hard to shake them, be strong Soozie I know you can and of course we would miss you here, but that wont happen because you are not going anywhere, when you feel that the crave is there and you know when as its in the back of your mind, creeping in! push the thought away go and do something, I went and cleaned my younger son's bedroom earlier when I felt one coming, by the time I had picked up a few bits of lego and talked to the cat, it was away, don't ever feel you can't post an SOS (slap on the wrist lol) someone will always be here and around to help and support you when you need it, we are all here to help each other just reach out Soozie.

"Right Jacqueline Anne look at me, no look at me in the eyes, and can you honestly say that you want to light up that cigarette, stop feeling sorry for yourself girl, do you think a smoke will sort how you are feeling, HA hell no, just remember the pride that you felt when you reached 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, the pride in your mum's voice when she keeps telling you well done, your sons your partner, how they all supported you, DO YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING, now looking me in the eyes tell me do you want to light up..................................No thought not................

  11. speechless Joe thank you so much for sharing your wonderful story, you have more than 6 good reasons to KTQ, so sorry to read that you lost your parents so young, "it will never happen to me" comes to mind when reading how you choose not to quit after they passed, your daughters will be so proud of their Dad, its terrible how we really justify our need to keep smoking to ourselves before we quit, not realising that its not so scary to jump after all, sending thoughts to your sister please let us know how she is doing x
  12. Me grouchy noooo, well just a little, I've quit smoking, Im menopausal, I have a 22 year old son, a 9 year old son, a partner who is approaching 40 and a midlife crisis, two cats and a mortgage, temper me have temper HA, apparently I don't shout anymore, I just mutter under my breath, which accordingly to everyone else is a signal to scarper :D
  13. Exactly all the above and more, I need to stop feeling sorry for myself "Duhhh" My quits come along quite regularly and in the beginning of the quit it was like oh yeah bring it on, recently I've been fixating on them ....bad move, stop feeding the addict with ammunition, its just a crave, thats all, just a silly stupid crave, nothing more and it will pass if you ignore it.
  14. just show me the buffet car please Ill happily sit there for the whole journey :D :D now where did I put my ticket !!
  15. Do you know Ive been sitting reading posts today from quitters who have been able to handle their quits and craves really well, and I'm stitting thinking "huh these past 3 weeks has been torture, crave after crave" its been unbearable for the last 3 weeks, my craves have been intense, No-man's land is a BOG , then it suddently clicked in my brain, Jackie who is responsible for the craves being unbearable.....You, your responsible, big lightbulb time, who can stop the craves from being unbearable............You, so Im building a barrier, creating an invisible shield Im going to stop the craves from creeping into my head. As soon as the little fingers of my addict start tap tapping at my head, ping red button and my barrier is up. There is no way I am going to let the craves be unbearable any longer, its time to take defensive action, Im strong, and I will succeed. Feel more in control again ................

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
