  4. Hi Juan well done on day 6, yes it is an emotional roller coaster that you are going through and its completely normal, hold on and get through this is not called hell week for nothing! Remember your quitting because you no longer want to smoke, You can do this you've made it this far and its fantastic do not give up, each day makes your stronger,
  5. Marti, sorry to read your post, it must be hard, but we all can remember the hold that the nicotine had over us, the lengths that we would go to just to get our fix, don't be mad at your mum Marti she is just a slave to the nicotine and needs a gentle reminder of what its doing to her, she is lying because she feels she is protecting herself and everyone else from the stark truth that she cannot give up the nicotine, she needs support, definitely get her to come and read some of the posts and threads on here, it may be the final push that she needs to be able to make the last jump.

  17. Juan in the beginning of your quit, you mind is still trying to make you believe that you are missing out on something, but its just thoughts, believe in yourself that you can overcome the addiction at the beginning and work through each day, because it is an emotional roller coaster and some days you will be so high on life that you think you can achieve anything and then some days you will come crashing down and round fast, you need to be on your guard for the nicotine addiction to come chapping at your head, but reading and educating yourself and how the addiction works will really help you, you know you are doing this for all the right reasons and that smoking will not benefit you in any way, as time goes on you will begin to believe in this.

  22. Okay I have a confession......................since Wednesday my partner and my youngest son have been away at the Gadget Show in Birmingham.......my oldest son has been working as have I, I am ashamed to say that the very first thought that crossed my mind on Wednesday afternoon was I'm on my own, no=one will know, I could have a cigarette and no-one will know. I was so very very tempted BUT I sat down, I logged on here and I read what all my fellow quitters were doing, how they were dealing with their quits, their emotions I laughed at the stories, I cried at some, I hoped that some of the posts that I replied to I helped in some way and I did not give into that addictive thought, I did not smoke a cigarette, I have been struggling and I have received the most amazing support from everyone here. So I could have had that "no-one will know " Cigarette, but I did not. So as I sit here all by myself, a proud non-smoker, someone who has met some wonderful people online over the last 2 months plus, I feel blessed.........................Thank you................
  23. Loving the post Rachael, so positive and true, thank you very much for sharing this with us, and can I just say...................You have an amazing quit well done

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
