  1. Well I shouldn't really call them dreams, they are definitely nightmares, but whatever I call them they are back. For the last 3 nights my dreams have been so bizarre!! Last night's one had me at my work, all staff in, all stuff drunk and sleeping, and a pack of cigarettes in my hand, smoked them all, then went and tried to buy some Champix illegally, I actually still have some in my cupboard 4 packs which I didnt take, and in my dream when no-one would sell me champix, I was actually trying to crush the tablets so I could make the first two weeks of half a doseage,......shudder not going there again. Its amazing how the brain analysis your thought that are stored away. Or some could just say Jackie ohhhh look there's the white van with square wheels. On a better note, the relief that I feel on waking, and realising it was all just a dream is immense.

  7. DaisyJane go and enjoy, put all thoughts of anything smoke related to the back of your mind, because its only a thought, take some scented candles with you for your room, it will also add to the romance, I would imagine that the smell if its as bad as your friend says will be enough to make you gag at the thought of smoking, Your going on a well deserved celebration with your lovely husband of 12 years, there is nothing else you need. Have a fabulous time :) xx
  8. (((Ross))) so sorry to have missed this post last night, but was in the land of nod, please try not to worry easier said than done I know, under no circumstances as everyone else has said do not goggle anything at all, or you might find out your actually a woman!! They are so quick today and your in the best hands fingers crossed that the results are good, we are all here for you, try not to answer the dentist whilst he has his fingers in your mouth, now why the hell do they talk to you in the first place. Big Hugs.. Julie, for the first time in my life I have boobies, only because I have stopped smoking and have put on weight LOL, not looking forward to any boobie squashing at all, think they look like pyramids after, but good luck, hang tight and smile preferably with your eyes crossed and tongue out! love to you both xxx
  9. I am 6 years down the line from Cervical Cancer, I now get tested every year, my results came through last week "All Clear", my friends mum has problems with her feet and has been told if she doesn't stop smoking she will lose her legs, can't believe I still smoked for that 6 years afterwards!! The Nicotine Addict can tightly hold you in its grip, so relieve I am now finally free,

  11. I remember my dad chasing me out the house because I dared to answer back, once he caught me, I can tell you I never answered back again lol, if that happened today, parents would be threatened with Social Services, didn't do me any harm whatsover, I still refer to my elders as Mr & Mrs, say please and thank you, wait until I am spoken to , hold open doors, and try to be pleasant and polite, I hope my children learn from example, they certainly seem to be, :)

  16. Rain very powerful words, so sorry for your friend, the addiction is an awful one, once it has a grip it will not let go I can only hope your friend realises before it is too late that she can quit, and so proud of your quit for you Rain. Julie and LadyB I feel helpless and just wish I could let you see through these words how much I feel for both of you watching someone you love pass away from this awful addiction, but so very very glad you both had quit. 19. Oh the memories, we had a polaroid camera that took pics then you stood and shook them like you were going crazy and watched the pic develop. My mum used to send me off in the morning on school holidays with an apple and bottle of water and we would all go to the beach and be told home for tea! We used to watch the top 40 not download it, Great Times lol, and I know I am beginning to sound like my mum!!
  20. Paul what an amazing achievement be proud of you quit x 9 Months is fantastic
  21. LadyB I would definitely say you have quit, you are a non smoker and you proved that too yourself at the BBQ, I find that with some of my work colleagues they say to me so hows the stopping smoking going, I know they mean well and want to see me succeed but I'm like "ummmm still stopped" "not going to start again" but they have seen me fail so many times, I honestly think they have a betting syndicate going to see how long I will last LOL. :D
  22. Just keep telling yourself that anytime a doubt creeps in "I AM QUIT" shout it out loud if you have to, I think sometimes when we quit our expectations are "okay Ive stopped smoking so after a day, I will be a non smoker and everything will be ok" Sometimes we are not prepared for how hard it can be how the addict clings on with a grim determination, BUT Evelyn if you use that same grim determination you will defeat the addict and another day and then another will have passed, do not give the addict any room to grow inside your head, read a book, do a puzzle, jigsaw, I always find music and singing and dancing help me. Whatever it takes Evelyn, we've got your back, just DONT SMOKE x

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
