  1. Hi Trish fantastic to see you reach day three, its going to suck, your junkie brain is desperate for you to light up, remember everything you are going through and feeling is normal, each hour from day to day can feel different, but it does ease off, the rage and frustration eases away, the dreams ohh I remember the dreams lol, just remember waking up and feeling so relieved that they were dreams and I hadnt just smoked 40 cigarettes one after the other!! Committ to your quit one hour at a time if you have too keep your mind busy, do whatever it takes to get through, you will survive and you will succeed if you follow one simple word NOPE, thats all it takes Trish NOPE, some quitters find their quits easy and some of us find it harder, but you get through it the best you can, we all have the same goal and that is to stay quit whatever it takes. We are all here for you Trish and will support you as much as you need, I wouldnt have made it this far without all the wonderful people and amazing support I have received here. xx
  2. Hi Laura, sorry to hear you are having a hard time, I think when we allow our guard down when we are stressed, tired, upset etc etc, the junkie addict inside us goes Aha here is an opening i'll try and sneak back in, as has been said from the wonderful advice above, stress is in our lives whether we are smokers or not, but if you relapsed the stress will be greater for you, smoking will not solve any problems, only add to them, don't allow the thought to grow Laura, its difficult I know, facing it myself at the minute, its putting one step in front of the other, you've done absolutely fantastic facing your crave and beating it, we just can't allow the excuses to win us over, keep going Laura, I fight with my son all the time he is 22, but after it we always hug and talk about it, he is just pushing his boundaries, but at the end of the day you are his mum and always will be, and he will always love you for that. xx

  5. I'm nearly at 4 months quit, and there is no way that I want to go back to smoking but I could sure as hell have one today. The Quit Smoking Journey is a lot of walking slowly up hill and then speed racing down the otherside with the wind blowing in your face, Going up and down these hills on a daily basis becomes part of our life, we get used to it, Then all of a sudden you come to the bottom of a mountain, looking up all we can see are pitfalls, crevices hidden from us, but there waiting to open beneath us and let us fall, ice and dark clouds, do you want to climb this mountain it looks impossible, how can we do it alone, its scary, maybe we should turn back, but then we stop for a minute and take a step back................we realise that nothing is impossible, we have the tools to climb this mountain, we have help from others to push onward, we can overcome the pitfalls, we can climb over the crevices with our tools, we will not fall, the ice we can avoid and the dark clouds will go and the sun will hopefully shine, As I said there is no way that I want to go back to smoking but I sure as hell could have one today, I'm at the bottom of the mountain, but I have the tools and the friends to push forward. So I took a step back and I started to climb..................

Tiffany you do whatever it takes to keep you off the cigarettes and away from thinking about them, if it means, hanging upside down putting your feet in your ears! then do it, we all beat ourselves up and sometimes it whats we need, but please don't be too hard on yourself, you did well, you recognised what was happening you acted on it, you realised the lozenges were no good and you acted on it, well done, be proud of your quit and be proud of you sometimes it can be a good feeling to feel proud (even if its just a little) xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
