  1. The amount of people I have spoken to and dealt with today who absolutely stink and can I say STINK really bad of nicotine has been horrendous, it made my head throb. I couldn't believe that just the simple smell of nicotine from someone would create a headache as bad as the one I got today. My colleagues were quick to reassure me that I never smelt like that, but I must of, it makes you think about all the horrible chemicals getting inside your lungs and how long they will linger there after your last cigarette if the smell lingers like that on your skin and hair. I also walked past a couple smoking on the way into work, and for a split second I thought OMG cigarette give me one...........to be quickly replaced by a mouthful of smoke as I walked by, O.M.G it was disgusting how on earth did I ever enjoy smoking a cigarette when it tasted like that, the addiction was strong to mask that!! Thank goodness all I can smell from myself now is Coco Chanel Mademoiselle and soap, lovely fresh and clean, and no NICOTINE.

  5. Smoking Kills.....would like to be around a little longer so it pushed me to a quit, took a while to build up to this one, I planned it, read alot of information on it, looked at the best ways that I could quit for me. Made a plan to quit for good. Saw the Doctor spoke at length on my quit strategy offered "My last chance" Champix, set a quit date, went online for information and joined Quit Train, find I need the support and be able to talk about it daily, NOPE and SNOT work a great deal for me. I have had many fails, some after 6/8 weeks some shorter, my longest was a year 11 years ago when I fell pregnant with my son, 6 weeks after he was born, I had a hell of alot of stress in my life, not an excuse but I used it at one bought a pack of fags and went to the pub, fast forward to 16th January, 2014 and here I am.

Rowly hope your feeling better now and your baby girl is hopefully on the mend too, these were triggers for me, expecially where my children were involved....ironic you want to protect your children from the nicotine yet they are a trigger hmmm, keep strong Rowly, cigarettes are not going to make you or your baby girl well, the opposite in fact, and your kids need you around for a long long time, remember that xx

  17. Hi Laura sorry to see you've had a bad day (took me reading all the posts to work out what iwac was, don't call me a dumb blond for nothing) every trigger, every crave that you overcome is taking you closer to the days when they wont bother you at all, quitting smoking is hard we know that, which is why so many relapse, but you have to be stronger, remind yourself why you stopped, if you did relapse all the same sh@@te would still be happening, but on top of that you would feel disgusted after 5 minutes because you had smoked, its a roller coaster of a journey but the rewards are so worth it. Keep going Laura you can and will do this xx
  18. You made it Betsy absolutely amazing, be proud and celebrate in style xx
  19. If you smoke Evelyn you will lay every excuse to blame, apart from yourself, you managed 2 weeks!!! two weeks and threw it away, if you can get through one day without the nicotine you can quit for good, I have a hell of alot of stress in my life, but do you know that if I started smoking again I just know that it will only add to my stresses, you have to be stronger that the addiction if you want to get through, we all get bored, find something to do, study on-line, learn a new hobby, do something that you have always wanted to do, there is a whole world awaiting you, just don't put something in your mouth and set it on fire! I am not trying to have a go at you Evelyn, but you need to get off your merry go round, otherwise it will keep happening and happening, and you don't really want that. Be strong Evelyn and you will succeed

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
