  3. Hi Tom and welcome on board the quit train, you will get plenty of support here and we judge no one, we only are here to support and friendship, quitting smoking is one of the best decisions you will ever make, there are many of us here who have quit and relapsed over time but being here we are learning to recognise the addiction for what it is. We all have a different story to tell, but we all share the same journey. Read and educate yourself as much as you can and stay close to the board, post as often as you want there will always be someone close by to help if needed. Congratulations again and looking forward to sharing your journey.
  4. Hi Vic and welcome on board the quit train, remember to stay positive and remember that the crave is really just a junkie thought, do not allow it room to grow or it will take over, NOPE is a very good message to repeat to yourself and pledging every day (although I must admit I am shocking at this as I cannot get onto a pc until late evening , but I always pledge first thing in the morning albeit not here) if you find yourself struggling, just take deep breaths and repeat NOPE every few seconds if you have to, this was my life line in the early days of my quit, anyhoo welcome again and looking forward to sharing your journey,

  17. Hi Susanna these thoughts will lessen, each day they will be easier to cope with, if you give the addiction room it will grow and grow, don't allow it to take over your mind, hand up and NOPE, kick the nicodemon to touch and move forward one second at a time if you have too, in the early weeks of my quit, I had to repeat NOPE over and over again, I never believed it would get easier but it has, I have had tricky moments over the last few months but each day it gets better and better, so stay true to yourself and do not give in to the addiction, just reach out as much as you need to we are all here to help you through xx

Nothing wrong with you at all Sarah, this is the mindset that men like this want you to feel, it is him who has the issues not you, I could tell you a few stories about the men in my life. But one thing is sure, because of what I went through I have become who I am today, a stronger, more determined woman, Hold your head high and let him go, do it with dignity and know you have nothing to be ashamed of, don't smoke because again he will have one, not worth it. But remember you are worth so much more xxx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
