  5. Hi Gabby its all normal, all part of the quit, its all part of becoming a stronger non smoker, I have had a worrying few days when I am craving and feel like "i'm missing something" I know its the inner junkie in me having a tiny prod just to say hey don't get too relaxed I am still here and I will pop my head up, but like everyone above, once I realise what's going on and tell myself Hey I no longer smoke, the feeling passes quite quickly, remember you are doing great and be proud of yourself xxx
  6. NOPE that's all you have to say, its going to fun and it will be even more fun why......because you don't smoke, the more you allow the idea of smoking to enter your head it will try and take over, concentrate on the BBQ, circulate, chat, sing, dance, and before you know it party over and you didn't smoke why because we believe in you and you believe in yourself, no doubts, HAVE FUN xxx

  20. My pet hate I work in a bank and people come to the desk on their phone, hand me their card, WTF I usually tell them I am not a mind reader and if they wish me to deal with their query kindly get off their phone. People walking in front of me and directly behind me hate hate hate it. Swearing in public, there really is no need for this, spitting Why do people feel the need to spit, what does this accomplish.............Nothing except to make you look like complete and utter tosser's.
  21. HI Dancer you are doing great, some days are tough and you feel Blerrghhhh but this will pass, one minute at a time NOPE, I found singing at the top of my voice helped! You need to do whatever it takes to get you through this tough time, just remember that each time you beat the nicotine you are winning, you are a non smoker and you will not allow the nicotine demon to win xx
  22. Hi Tiff the level of hold that nicotine has over us is amazing, you will go through periods of thinking about smoking, testing yourself which is what I think you were doing today, I do this often, I see how far I can push myself, as time goes on this level of hold does ease, I couldn't sleep last night because I craved a cigarette that much, this hasn't happened for quite a while but it still happens, its still the junkie in me just reminding me "hey still here!!" you will go through periods of complete and utter acceptance, but the most important thing is that you recognised that you didn't want to smoke and you pushed the nicotine away, which is fantastic, stop being hard on yourself be proud of yourself Tiff tell yourself that what you are doing is great, tell yourself you are proud of you, it helps, if someone congratulates you recognise it and say "yes I am doing great" because Tiff you really are doing fantastic remember that each day is a new day and another day of being smoke free xxx
  23. Susana so sorry I missed your SOS but so pleased to see you overcame it, the reality is yes there will be tough days, but as time goes on it does get easier and easier, I never believed any of the longer term quitters myself when they said "it gets easier" now I do, yes I still have the occasional urge to have a cigarette but that's all it is an urge, a thought, I am not going to act upon it, its there, it lingers for a few seconds now and then its gone, same as you the urge was there but you didn't act on you, now the next time it happens you know what to do, be strong and overcome the urge xx
  24. Hi Juan so good to see you back onboard the quit train, one day at a time and NOPE every 5 seconds if you have too xx

Glad to see you got your ticker xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
