Hi Wendy sorry I missed this yesterday and welcome on board the QT, its great that you took the plunge and re-quit and you are sharing your journey with us, everyone has a different experience in their quit, and Im so pleased to see yours is going well, no-one will shoot you here believe me, we are all aiming for the same outcome, NOPE, its a simple as that, I relapsed too, and now realise it is a mindset, quite simply I am not a smoker any more, move on and move upwards, the only advice I would add to what has been given above is please if the addiction raises its head, DO NOT LISTEN, post on here, that was the mistake I made thinking ahhh one puff wont hurt.....xxx

Hands up NOPE From me all daaaay long xx

Hi Jules and welcome on board, and congratulations on 19 days, unfortunately the nicotine demon is doing his damnest to entice you back, and there is no such thing as one puff, I can honestly tell you there isn't I threw away a 7 month quit on the stupid notion of one puff will do me no harm, we are nicotine addicts and need to guard our quits I had a wobble today and jumped on my exercise bike and cycled the thoughts away, do whatever it takes hunny just do not think that you can have one puff, you will get through it, post, read and commit to NOPE, be proud of what you have achieved and do not give the nicotine demon room to grow, you are doing brilliantly xxx

Queen Greenlover (Beth) Has A New Role...
JackiMac replied to MarylandQuitter's topic in Introductions & About Us
Well done to MQ and Beth, I think this is a fantastic idea, sometimes when we relapse all we need is just a small reminder that someone somewhere cares enough to ask after us, I suppose the issue of privacy can be cleared with each member upon joining, they could be advised that they would receive an email from us enquiring after them should they be absent from the QT for a small amount of time, and given the option to even opt out if they want, I would think that most members would welcome this, and I wouldn't think it would cause any offence at all or any invasion of privacy, I mean look at all the spam mail we get!! Me for one am jumping up and down and shouting out loud, YEP good idea guys, if you need any help I will gladly be of assistance to MQ and Beth xxx -
Fantastic quit Joe 10 months is brilliant xxx

Hi Jeffrey you post as often as you like, writing down thoughts helps a great deal, yes the demon nicotine junkie will pop its ugly head up when you least expect it, tap you on the shoulder and say Hi remember me!!, be vigilant, guard your quit, and if you want to post, post, take each day as it comes, commit to NOPE it does help, and do not be afraid of the quit, a lot of wonderful members here will tell you to embrace the quit, I never truly got that, but I will tell you something I do now, when I get a crave, I am not afraid of it, I tackle it head on, ahaha its a crave so what, it will pass, you are doing wonderful, once you recognise you are an addict then you can recognise what you are dealing with and tackle it and banish it. xxx

Truly sick of craving a cigarette this month
JackiMac replied to Aine's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Aine this is when I began to romance the cigarette around 6.5 months for a good 4 weeks or more, and I took it one step further and relapsed believe me you so don't want to go down that road, hold onto why you quit and keep reminding yourself NOPE -

Hi DF I hope today has been a better day, the crappy days are the worst, but take each day at a time, don't look too far ahead or it does scare the pants of you, NOPE just for today works fine and in the words of Paul McKenna if you can quit for one day ...........hugs xxx

Sarge.....WooWoo is actually an alcoholic drink which makes you as the name suggests go Woowoo :D I feel myself I hit upon no mans land around firstly the 3 month mark, I felt strange, alienated, did not know where I was heading, what I wanted, I could never put my finger on anything, but knew something was amiss, felt like I was wading through thick mud and staring through fog, some of us quitter really believe in no-man's land and some of don't which is what makes us all unique and individual in our own right. The next time I hit no man's land was at the end of the 6 months and again it lasted approximately a month, but during the month I became complacent and began to romance the though of a cigarette again, and yes I relapsed, will I hit no man's land again this time around, who knows, but if I do I certainly know how to deal with it xxx

Hi Sarah you brave wonderful lady, all you are feeling and experiencing at the moment is all part of the grieving process, when I separated and finally divorced my abusive first husband I would cry all the time, although you knew you had to get rid of the badness in your life, mentally for you to be able to heal you need to grieve the same applies to quitting smoking, as time passes the emotions you feel do get easier, life becomes better to deal with, there is no time scale, you go at your own pace, you need to remember and be proud of you, you have to hold your head high, you survived my lovely and life is now for living, Hugs make the world a better place and sending you a lifetime of hugs xxx
