  2. Every Six months I would go to my Dentist and every six months he would tut about the staining behind the back of my teeth, every six months he would get that horrible digging instrument and poke what felt like to china in the roots of my mouth, every so often muttering under his breath about debris, lack of dental hygene blah blah...BUT today I went for my six month check up and VOILA no de-scaling required and no polishing.....excuse me Mr Dentist please repeat that after 32 years of twice yearly de-scaling and polishing and tutting and tsking I do not need this treatment.....hmm Mr Dentist could it be because I have stopped smoking....Why yes WHOOP £10.60 treatment saved and my teeth are in fantastic nick for my age. Couldn't be happier even more reason for me to :D xxx

  7. WOW just reading through all your lovely posts and its wonderful to read so so many positive and uplifting reports of peoples journeys. I think it really does help all quitters out there who come along and are maybe struggling, are doubtful that it is achievable, are questioning their ability to cope, I think it really does help reading all these beautiful quits of 1 month, 2 months, 6 months, 8 months and the amazing year and more. The Commitment you guys have to this forum is amazing and I for one am proud to be a part of it. The positive attitude spreads from person to person, its buzzing, its like electricity. Being a non smoker rocks, reading of long term quitters and knowing that our body heals makes me feel happy. I love my exercises every day, I love being able to exercise and not get out of breath, walking up the stairs make me puff before, now I can exercise and sing !!! Most people go into quitting dreading it, feeling scared, unsure, but they need to come here and they need to read all these posts and realise that quitting smoking is the most positive thing you can ever do.

Hi and welcome back on board, some of us find falling down happens alot before our quit sticks and some whistle away , all our quits are different, recognising why you fall and addressing that is important, being here and saying Yes ok I am an addict, is important, posting, educating and reading is important too, getting back up and re-quitting is important too and you did that so well done, eyes forward and keep marching, looking forward to sharing your journey xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
