  4. I remember being like that, wondering when it was polite enough to excuse myself for a smoke, trying to eke it out that little bit longer, everyone watching me, thinking, god not another smoke, now i don't have that worry, I am going out with a friend tommorow for dinner and will be able to sit for the duration not having to wonder when I am able to get up smoke. Put quite simply my lovely Doreen, I no longer twitch lol xx
  5. Whoop Whoop loving this post, keeping it real Bakon, I so want the feeling of content, hate this "emptiness" but know it will pass, month 3 and month 7 will not happen this time, I will deal with them knowing that it will get better, Mike there is no Think, take the think out of that sentence and what do you have I WANT THAT....keep saying that, repeat after me NOPE even for the next 5 mins, and keep that on a loop. Love reading all the wonderful quitters who joined along with me way back last year, who kept the NOPE and seeing them say it does get easier, do you know something, I believe you.

  12. I was sitting thinking today, that over the last year I have had two relapses, and this is my 3rd attempt in a year to quit, now I am seriously beginning to realise that way back last year I would not have even attempted to quit if it had not been for finding, joining and taking part in this Forum, being able to see that I am not alone, that there are different ways to quit, that not everyone's quit is the same, that it doesnt matter if you relapse the support is here to help you re- quit, seeing so many quitters who have been committed to keeping the quit, helping others that are struggling, offering support and advice its amazing, being part of this forum has certainly prompted me to keep on and get to my sticky quit. Outside of the forum we have our Doctors, leaflets, internet advice, not quite the 24/7 help and support we all need, and the beauty of it is, all it takes is the touch of a button and we can interact with someone, talk out our quit, socialise, laugh, share things and connect. Pretty amazing isn't it. I can honestly say that if I hadn't stumbled across my little family in the corner of the internet my relapse last year would still be my relapse now, it was the thought of everyone here, that pushed me that little bit harder to come back and to try again. So glad I did. Quitting smoking is one of the most amazing things that you can do, one of the others is joining this forum. Quitting is no longer a scary and lonely trip but more of an adventure with people who care and support, leading you to live a better, healthier stronger and more fulfilling life.

  16. NOPE here too xx
  17. Hi put your relapse behind you learn where you went wrong and take strength to move forward in your quit. The addiction is hard to overcome sometimes, but the most important thing is you came straight back on the Quit Train, NOPE is a good mantra to help you, I'm saying it constantly at the moment and will continue to do so for as long as it takes. Being a former relapser I know how you feel, give yourself a good kick and tell yourself that this time the nicotine is not going to win.

DD and Colleen you are both excluded from this thread, lol, me if someone had something to say I would rather it was said, as long as it wasnt in a mean or hurtful way, sometimes I get very angry and just vent and then regret it, sometimes I regret it, and sometimes it isnt worth putting your opinion forward because no-one listens anyway
  21. Mike, the addiction is very powerful, but to have a successful quit you must really want to stop, not stop for a little while, not stop for a few weeks, not stop its okay Ill smoke again when I want, but STOP FOREVER and not be afraid of stopping either. I think most of us who have unsuccessful quits, only 99% want to quit and 1% keep on smoking, you have to have 100% committed to this and realise that there is no quick fix either, that was my biggest downfall, why am I still struggling, why am I still craving the nicotine, why ...the answer is because I am allowing myself to struggle and allowing myself to crave, its mind over matter most of the time, learning to control your crave and be stronger than the addiction. When you fall, learn to pick yourself up and give yourself the 100% you deserve, your life is worth more.
  22. I didn't get what all the fuss was about, most friends that I know had read it and went on and on about it, was offered the whole set of books but never have been a follower, like to go my own way , and Magic Mike again nahhh not for me lol

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
