  1. Hi great to see you here and welcome on board, be strong and take each day as it comes, committing to the NOPE pledge every day certainly helps and even if you have to repeat to yourself I find myself doing that sometimes, plan new activities is a good idea and think what you can do with all the money you save, make a treat day for you, the body will go through some amazing transformations over the coming months, and there is some wonderful help and advice here on the quit train, stay close and post as often as you can, "talking" it through really helps xx
  2. Hi CPK welcome on board the quit train, and big congratulations on the best decision you will ever make Quitting xx

  5. Awww Rob sorry to hear your not feeling well, take care and keep warm, I remember being ill and still smoking and feeling a million times worse after thinking WTF why did I just do that, or not being able to smoke because I was so unwell for a few days desperate to get better so I could smoke!!! beggars belief, anyhooo healing hugs coming your way xx
  6. Brilliant Marcus, its the one thing that holds alot of quitters and would be quitters back, FEAR, fear of not having or being able to smoke FOREVER, its that word FOREVER that scares so many, but we need to learn to fight the addiction and remember we are worth so much more and the fear will eventually fade and we will come to realise that we have chosen the right path and that is the path to freedom, freedom from the nicotine and freedom from the addiction.
  7. Tracey you have been there for me on so many occasions, thank you my lovely, 15 months is simply fantastic, xxx
  8. I think the thing with quitting is we expect it to be easier than it is, we expect to wake up one morning and go ok I no longer smoke, therefore I will no longer feel the need for a cigarette, I will not have a crave or miss the feeling that a cigarette gave me, but unfortunately its not like that, what gives me hope is seeing quitters further ahead affirming that yes it does get easier and the desire does fade in time. Marti's post is briliant, and we need to remember if we can go 1 hour without a cigarette, we can go another and another, its repeat after me NOPE...........be proud of what you are achieving you are doing fantastic xx
  9. Happpyyyy Burpdayyyy to youuuuu Happyyy Burpday to Youuuuu, hope you have a truly amazing day and are spoilt rotten xxx
  10. Hi Sweetheart so sorry Im coming in at the tail end again!!! story of my life lol, Addiction is a pain, I relapsed at 7 months and at 3 months and remember 3 months seemed to be a sitckler for a lot of us on here, No man's land it was called, we didn't know where we were where we were going or why we were even here, so glad you reached out and so glad there were so many here to help you through, you should be really proud of yourself, you kicked nicotine's butt. I remember so many quitters here who started with me and who didn't relapse who are now talking about the freedom, it does come, it is hard work, but it is so worth the battling to reach the end goal, I keep telling myself its just thoughts, don't listen to them, and don't give them room to grow, do do ignite the fire. Stand tall and stand proud xxx

  19. Hi Laura sorry to hear you had a horrible day and glad the lady is ok. As you know smoking will not change the situation, it would not have made what happened any different, I have fallen off the train twice over the last year yes the addiction stinks, relapse is awful, but we need to learn to be stronger than the pull than the crave than the belief that "just one" will be ok, because it is all lies. well done for recognising that and for jumping back on, we are all here to help and support you Laura big deep breaths and big hugs coming your way xxx
  20. Hi my lovely, so glad to see you managed to jump straight on, the addiction stinks doesnt it! It really is a case of being stronger than the addiction and realising that its not you who wants to smoke but the addiction making you think that, we gave it room to grow and it grows quickly, when that thought comes into our heads we need to be saying to ourselves that we have got this far in our quit without the need for nicotine so why the hell do we think we need it now, because we most certainly don't. Take this forward now to the level of sticky, you can and you will do this believe in you xxx
  21. OMG what a horrible image, thanks Nancy for keeping it real xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
