  3. Colleen we got you my lovely, it was just a passing thought which you kicked into touch, just shows how the addiction can sneak but in sometimes, my wee family here keep it real for me, and remind me daily how important it is to KTQ, big hugs to you xxx
  4. Sorry to hear you have been unwell, but good news your x-ray was clear, I always remember getting a cold and it always ended up in my chest and took weeks and week to clear, always coughing up yucky stuff, aint gonna do that no more!! xx
  5. First treat to myself for a month quit got my nails done :D , and another NOPE today xx
  6. CPK can definitely relate to that, we need to learn to realise that it takes time, we need to adjust to all the changes we are going through, hell its not easy but its so worth it, we want the benefits of quitting to happen yesterday, and can't understand why our brain isnt allowing it! We want to be where all the long term quitters are, and we want it now, but unfortunately we have to go through the quit process to allow our brain and thought processes to relearn and undo all the bad that we have inflicted on ourselves.

  11. Fantastic way to turn around the romancing of the cigarette, instead of thinking about the cigarette of something that we miss, its going to take us away and we will be missed, turn all those thoughts of romancing to the other side, thanks Marcus
  12. I wanted to quit because of health issues and hearing so many horror stories, and I could not justify it financially, I now smell so much better, my hair, skin and eyes are brighter, breathing is easier, I put away the money I no longer spend into various bits and bobs and I am paying off things sooner, My house and clothes smell fresh, I can't get over how disgusting the smell is, its what gets to me the most that smell, I imagine the damage that has been done to my body and can only hope that I can repair it slowly over time. I don't want smoking to be the death of me........
  13. Hi Beth great to see you and welcome back xxx
  14. Hi Michelle, your doing great and everything that you are feeling is completely normal, us addicts think that on day one when we say to ourselves I am quitting smoking that it will be as easy as that, its only when we begin to realise that we have to put commitment into this and strength that we begin to waver, quitting smoking is a journey, one where you, your mind and your body will go through some amazing changes, embrace each one and realise that they are bringing you closure to healing your body and your mind, its changing your thoughts and habits, remember you have in the past been subjecting your body to a regular habit day in day out, it will take time to change this, do not be disheartened Michelle its all a healing process and one that you will succeed in if you have the commitment xx
  15. Markus your posts are so powerful and inspirational, I think its the one thing that us addicts forget, its down to us to quit, there is no magic wand, there is no quick release, it takes dedication and commitment and strength, we need to realise that we really really 100% want to quit, and not just say the words but believe them too, after relapsing twice that is beginning so very clear to me I need to be 100% committed to this quit, and this time I am xx
  16. 2 years celebration Jimmy is absolutely fantastic xx

  22. Hi Kitkat and welcome on board the quit train, sorry to read you had lost your beautiful quit previously, the addiction is a bugger, but as Bakon says above, you can only take responsibility for yourself, you either want to be a smoker or not, fantastic to read that you quit today, NOPE is the way forward, you already know the majority of what to expect, but this forum is amazing for any help, advice, strength or support that you may or may not need. I have relapsed myself twice over the last year, and am determined that this is my sticky quit, if I need to lean I will, looking forward to sharing your journey with you xx
  23. WOW how fantastic to see this xx
  24. finished work for the day and its a NOPE xx
  25. Hi One, no one is harsh on here we only tell the truth and sometimes its not what people want to hear, when someone relapses its because they want to smoke again, deep down they really aren't true to the quit, you have to want to be a non-smoker and really fight the craves and the urges, because its only us who allow the thoughts to enter our brains, and us who allow the romancing of the nicotine to begin, its wonderful to see that you came straight back on board, going forward remind yourself that smoking is not an option, you are stronger than the nicodemon, you can and you will succeed smoking is a disgusting, smelly life threatening addiction, we are all here to help you on your way xxx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
