  2. Hi Tiff how you doing now, sorry I missed this, the addiction is a bitch, was out last night at the Theatre, and a serious crave hit, had no way to access here, but I breathed through it, thinking about if I started again, where would I be, right back to where I didn't want to be, its a mixed up crazy thought process, but right at the bottom of it all is the overwhelming belief that I really really do not want to smoke again, hang on in there Tiff, each second that you go without a cigarette is a major victory and a kick to the kerb for the nicodemon.

  4. Your doing fantastic, remember that it is an addiction, a habit that you have created and something you are used to doing repeatedly, your brain automatically associates smoking with certain patterns, its re-educating yourself and your brain that you no longer smoke and its not an option any more, before I can bet that you used to reach for a cigarette without even thinking about it because it was ingrained in your day to day routine, it takes time NOPE is wonderful and I repeat it sometimes every few seconds if needs be, xx
  5. Hi Tony thats absolutely brilliant, great to hear the breathing is getting better. The sleep pattern will settle down, your body is changing and adjusting all the time and your brain is getting used to being nicotine free, maybe a warm bath, read quietly, something to soothe and calm your brain before going to bed? xx
  6. You hit the nail on the head Tracey, they feel they are justified in smoking because others are smoking too, its how the addiction works, when other smokers see us quit and see us succeeding, unfortunately deep down they want us to fail and go back to being in their "gang" makes it easier you see, oh so and so smokes, i'm just nipping out to join her/him for one, just to be social you know what I mean!!xx

  14. HI and welcome on Board Ricki, commitment is the name of the game and NOPE is the pledge to make every day. Being here and posting is often enough support for us all here, we all are going through the same journey and just knowing there are others around is a big help. Standing up and say I am an addict and re-educating yourself is a must, I too quit drinking as that also went hand in hand for me, don't miss the booze at all, gave in at christmas and relapsed in my quit also so I know no more drinking for me. Looking forward to sharing your journey with you xx

  17. CPK high five loving the kick ass attitude, the lingering shadow of stinky smell leaves and finds another poor sucker to follow, I love smelling sweet, and hate the smell of smoke and can sniff it out at ten paces, makes me shudder, with spring coming its a good idea for a massive spring clean of the house get rid of any lingering scents xx
  18. I think each and every one of us on here can relate to this story in many ways, cutting short a meal, a visit a telephone call, becoming agitated as we needed our fix, how shallow were we? Nicotine cannot or never will be a replacement for human companionship, heartbreaking to think of the slave we were to cigarettes false sense of friendship.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
