Last chance saloon CPK , my biggest fear was/is lung cancer. Once before my relapse last year I moaned to my friend that I was putting on a hell of a weight and was thinking of smoking again when she told me "Jacks you can lose weight, but you can't lose Cancer" wise words from a very good friend and I keep these in the forefront of my mind, I'm 50 next year and want to start that decade as a non smoker.....so for me its a last chance saloon no more relapses, xx

I think when we stop smoking we all have this warped sense that we have this magic wand that makes all the craves, desires and longing for smoking disappear overnight, reality then kicks in and we realise that we have to work hard to reach our goal, this is when people relapse, because they are not fully committed to quitting, what sacrifice do we have to make to stop, none, we owe it to ourselves to quit smoking, we inflicted this addiction upon ourselves, we have to work at making it better, our lives are in our hands, and only us, ourselves can get through the quit to a better life, a life that we really deserve. The few weeks, or in some cases months of feeling out of sorts, feeling as though we are in limbo, are surely something really worth going through to reach the side where our lives are much healthier, we live longer, and we are more in control. xx

When we were smokers we believed that Nicotine helped so many different things, pain, stress, thinking, weight loss, the list could go on, but the real truth of the matter is nicotine is so bad for us, it will irritate the nasal passages, at the moment your addiction is trying to push different buttons but your doing great proving you are stronger than the crave and beginning to realise that smoking will only make you feel worse xx

Hi Erik and welcome on board the QT and congratulations on being 2.5 months quit already that is fantastic, as above can only add that everyone feels different on their quits, each journey is personal to the person taking it, but I can relate to the fuzziness and general feeling of something is missing, you can only re-educate your brain into not needing any nicotine, daily exercise is fantastic as it releases all those feel good endorphines and will soon have you buzzing with health and vitality, your are doing amazing and each day will bring you new rewards in your wonderful life as a non smoker xx

Ricki you are so in the right place, Quit Train does what it says on the tin, however you approach it, it's a quit smoking forum, I got to where I am using Champix, all our journeys are different but we all have the same goal, quitting, we are all in this together, and you are doing fantastic xx

Marti, I have no great words to give you apart from thanks and be proud my lovely, you have come so far xx -
Hi Tyme, just back in from work and saw your post, how are you feeling?. Please please just remember a crave is a just a negative thought in your head, and only you can stop it, do not give it any room to grow, it will pass, yes it sucks, yes it feels horrible and nasty, but then lighting up a cigarette will only make you feel a thousand times worse. The crave will not do you any harm but make life a little uncomfortable for a short while, but smoking, well we all know what that does, it will kill you. xx

Ricki keep climbing your doing brilliantly, my exercise bike and me have a fantastic relationship, it keeps me focused, every day I do my 20 mins cycle with my music, my sit ups and crunches, I am forming a new addiction but one that will benefit me this time. I also can justify the amount of crap I now eat also lol, I eat lots of chocolate I exercise it off!! :D
