  2. Way to go, Babs! Hey - do you have a link so I can print it out? Thnaks!!
  3. Good reminder to us at all stages of smoking. Sometimes, even after years of not smoking, we think, "Oh, I'm drinking tonight so I can just have a couple and be back to not smoking tomorrow." That thinking has killed many a quits, including a four year one of my own. I won't make that mistake again. Way to go, Mason! :)
  4. Ok. When are we starting?? Monday or tomorrow?? I have been very lax - going to the gym like once a month, so maybe this is what I need to get a bump on spring tightening. :) I'm in! :)
  5. Sorry, Sarge, but that did make me LOL, but only because you pointed it out. Suck it in next time. :) Or just wear it proud! But I guess those were the old days, so now you wear it proud all different! :)
  6. You are looking AWESOME, Babs! Way to go, Girl! :)
  7. I want to move Florida to California then live there. Colorado is going downhill fast. :)
  8. I think you like it, Bakon. :)
  9. I'm having red wine, wondering if chocolate potato chips exist. They have to, right??? it would be even better if they were like the size of an M&M, or smaller, but still thin & crispy. Dark chocolate and some chips not chocolate covered. Oh. My.!!! Thank God they don't have those.
  10. Better quit laughing or she'll start beating the h outta you for real - then you'll be crying and too hurt for nookie. To her your laughing is at her. might hurt her feelings. ;)
  11. Sorry, Girl. :(
  12. Here!!! Happy Friday, Quitters! :)
  13. Also - It looks like a nice dinner and you know how to pour a glass of wine, my friend! :)
  14. Unless the stufffing is made from scratch, I'd say potatoes and fresh carrots - not much of a cooked carrot gal - unless it they are cooked in like a roast or stew or soup. :)
  15. Once in a while, I too get the urge to smoke when I see someone smoking or I'm feeling exceptionally stressed. I get that feeling of, "I wish I could have a smoke too." Then I remember how it really FEELS to smoke, the burning in my throat and chest. That annoying cough that would never go away. How icky it made my hair smell. Nevertheless, we are still previous smokers and that urge happens on occasion. The good thing is that it only takes about 30 seconds to pass. If even that. :)
  16. P.S. - some of us are not always here as much as we used to be, but we LOVE the Quit Train and think of our quit train friends everyday. :)
  17. Sounds like you are doing great! Keep it up! Old & new quits, we are here with you! :) Quitters Rock!! :)

  20. Tonight I made Crock Pot Cheesy Potatoes. I was kind of in a hurry, so I didn't follow a recipe. I peeled & diced potatoes & threw them in the Crock Pot at about noon with a couple of pieces of diced thick sliced ham & diced a can of mild green chilis. Added some olive oil, salt & pepper. stirred & left on warm. Came home about 3.5 hours later & added about 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Came home about 2 more hours later & the potatoes were not cooked through, so I turned up to high, & let them cook a bit longer. So, technically they cooked at low for 5.5, then at high for about another hour. The taste was great! I sprinkled on a little cayenne (the kids added a little salt), but the potatoes were still a bit al dente for my taste. Next time, I'll get the potatoes in a little earlier and let them cook longer. I still like adding the cheese toward the last part so it melts over instead of into the potatoes. We served with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and celery. Adding Shredded carrots into the cooking potatoes would be YUMMY! :) Sorry - no pic. :)

You almost make me want to take up running, Sarge. I tried it last spring. I haven't learned to love it yet. Maybe this year. ;)
  24. Indian food is yummy!!! I'll check out Scott's Coconut Curry very soon- YUM!!!! My FAVORITE Indian dish!!! :)
  25. I may have posted this before (I know for sure I just did on the What's for Dinner thread), but it is good, easy, healthy and a slow cooker recipe. :) You could also probably use pork if you wanna. :) The recipe calls for it to be served over Angel Hair pasta, but mashed potatoes would be yummy too - especially if you use pork. :) http://skinnyms.com/...lsamic-chicken/

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
