Looking at my calendar now! Such a short window. I see a Spring Break and a volleyball tournament, but also a possibility. Will PM you :)
  3. YAY MARTI!!!!! TWO YEARS IS AWESOME! No one could say it say finer than our sweet Stu! ;)
  4. Your Denny's meeting location isn't quite the spot a lady shows up to at 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning to meet a man dining alone - well, not this kinda of lady anyway. ;) Sounds about right. :)
  5. Awww!! Congrats you two!!! How exciting for both of you!!
  6. YAY AINE!!!!!!! YOU ROCK!!! Tell Simba to take you somewhere nice to celebrate!! :)
  7. 2 years and 7 months worth. RIP
  8. I, too, am so sad and shocked to hear this news. I don't even know what to say. I got an email from her once out of the blue and before I opened it I wondered if I had said something to make here mad or something. I opened it and she was just saying something really sweet about me getting over a craving or hitting some really random milestone (don't quite remember as it was a while ago). I was completely touched. She certainly holds a special little place in my heart.
  9. It's hard when we are done, but the people around us aren't. Stay strong. Know that you can choose not to smoke while others smoke. And early in our quits, we may have a desire - watching others smoke, while we can't. Truly, the opposite is true - we are free now. What a great feeling!!! Others are not there yet - don't let that take away from your success. Be done! :)
  10. Welcome Indigo!!! Quitting is AWESOME!!!! You will be so happy to be free! There may be a couple hard moments, but you can get through them. Create distractions - take a walk, stretch, eat something that uses your hands like shelled peanuts or pistachios. Hot salsa and chips were a good snack for me (I love salsa and the hotness didn't mix well with smoking). Brush your teeth, call someone, post here. Lots of thing you can do before you smoke. Since you aren't quit yet, do some prep by getting rid of all your smoking stuff like lighters, ash trays, stray butts. I can have lighters all around the house now, but in the first few weeks for me, they were kind of triggers. Maybe read The Easy Way to Quit Smoking by Allen Carr. It helped me (and others here) get my head right. You've got this!
  11. Y'all are doing great!!! I was the same about house work for sure. I always looked forward to those little breaks in between chores. I started coming to the Board instead. For a while, that was taking up more time then it should have, but going to the forum was a great distraction.
  12. Well Done, Stu!!! Two years is so awesome! We love that you love to write, golf, eat and drive around in that fancy BMW convertible with your pretty wife! Way to enjoy life! Not smoking ROCKS!!!

    Yay, Broncos!!

YAY Broncos! Would love to see them win the Super Bowl even though I'm not really a football fan. :)
  17. Hey HAT! Literally two days ago I was just wondering what happened to you. Glad to see you back. Stop that ugly addiction now! Be done with it. You've had enough.
  18. You can drink and not smoke (but curses to to the drink). Resolve not to smoke. You can! I quit while drinking. Don't let drinking be an excuse. Some people only quit smoking. Some only drinking. Pick your demon and rid it. Smoking sucks. Please don't do it anymore.
  19. Sometimes you need to step back to move forward. Tough go for young athletes these days. Sports are so competitive! Time to remind our young athletes that being the best in sports doesn't define success. Work hard! Play hard! Go for the Win! As Important - Have Fun! Work Together! Give! Grow!
  20. CONGRATS to you Simba! 2 years is AWESOME!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
