  5. I downloaded two new apps for running. One is called PumaTrac. This uses GPS to track miles, time, calories, and stuff. Kinda cool, but I feel like I am being followed. :) The other is FitRun, which is a music app like app like Pandora. You can select from all different genres and bpms. I may upgrade to see if it has more features like the ability to like or dislike songs. It would also be cool if you could bump the selections up or down (make the music faster or slower). I think there was another app that did this, but it selected songs from your iTunes and I don't have enough music loaded onto that. Yesterday, I listened to an alternative rock station that was super cool.. Today, I listened to 80's, cuz I love the 80's so much!!! And I got to hear this fun classic 80's tune! :)

  18. My plan was foiled. Meh! I may still be there, but I will have kids at my house. No nights home alone for me til the kids are off to college, I guess. Message of the day - enjoy them while I have them. :)
  19. I may (big maybe) have a night to myself tonight. Since I didn't make any plans with people in town, who better to spend it with than my Quit Train friends???? If I can't make it, maybe others will be available. :) Hope to see you later. :)
  20. Maybe a similar view. This one was taken from my phone this morning. Mork & Mindy was was filmed in Boulder, which is northwest to where I live. Pikes Peak is in Colorado Springs and would be more straight south of Boulder. (Pikes Peak is the big mountain in the background. :) ) Way to go spinning with those new shoes! You go girl!
  21. Jogged today. 1.7 miles for 1/2 hour. I went up a hill and back down. The hill is very steep; I quick walk up most of the way. I try to jog up, but have to walk often. I can jog down, but I got a side ache today :(. My goal is to be able to jog up the hill without stopping. I haven't set a date to achieve this goal yet. :) Here is my view to the south when I get to the top. The view to the North is just as stunning. Beautiful day in Colorado today.
  22. Total twist in the day no I have to re-organize my whole day! MEH!!!!!! I love this thread! :) Makes me not feel bad complaining about petty crap.
  23. Keep your account open and stop by and say hi once in while. Like a lot. Ok!!! :) HUGS! xoxo

    Weird Dreams

The other night I dreamt that I was in this building, and I was trying to get out. I was running through rooms in stuff. It was all quiet in the building. No one was in it, but I needed to get out. Then I walk quietly out of one of the rooms into this hallway. At the end of the hallway, you could go straight into another office/room, or left or right down another hall. Down the right hall, I saw someone's foot, with a black tennis shoe. Then that person peers around the corner. It was a man, tall, dark haired, and he starts running toward me. I start to run the opposite direction, but am digging through my purse for my keys or something. He is gaining on me, and I know I will be unable to outrun him and start trying to think of ways to defend myself. I start to scream, then my hubby wakes me up. I was so scared and breathing all heavy. On the good side, I like sleeping so much, that I rolled over and fell back asleep with no more chases. :) Chase dreams. I get those and falling dreams a lot. :)
  25. This is a great thread. You have given many excuses to smoke, so if you want to smoke, the excuses are all there. If you don't want to smoke, then don't smoke. If you need a moment, go to the bathroom and take a moment to think. Ask yourself why you want to smoke. Then, if you really want to light up that one smoke, have a virtual one. Imagine yourself smoking, but instead of "romanticising" the smoke, remember how smoking really feels. This has helped me a lot at times. I "virtually" smoke a cig. I imagine putting the cig in my mouth and lighting it. Immediately, I feel the smoke pass my lips, tongue and mouth. It is hot; it burns my lips, and the taste is foul. It burns my nose. The heat and smoke burn my throat, then fills my chest. So, I try to blow all the smoke out, but I can still feel the heat and smoke in my stomach. It makes me feel a bit nauseous, but I ignore this feeling. I can feel the the chemicals rushing through my veins. The circulation in my hands and feet is off - jumpy, cold. I cough - just lightly for the moment. Then I take another drag and wish so badly that I was a non-smoker. Then I rejoice, because this was all a memory and imagination. I take a full deep breath of clean, smoke free fresh air - no coughing, no burning, no smell, no addictive nicotine. I know too that sometimes it is hard to post to the whole Board, so if you need to PM someone, that works too. I'll PM you right now, so you have me in your PM folder. :) You can totally get through this Soozie!!! :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
