  6. Lovely! It's the best place to be. And it only gets better, and better, and better. And then you look back and you laugh and you think- that's what it was, that's how easy it always was, to quit and stay quit. Just beware of the tricks your mind plays on you, because you know, like a spoilt child it wants its gummies.

  9. Day 25 now? There is now light at end of the tunnel, right? You see it was never so bad as you expected it to be. That's it, it won't get worse. Little by little you'll stop needing it, then you'll stop desiring it, and soon you won't even think about it. After a few years, it would seem strange you ever did it. Life is so much more enjoyable without smoking, sleep will get so much better, smells will be back, tastes. But not only, the enjoyment of life will be different, you will be very much happier, more content with yourslef and it is all all going to be better, get better and feel better, just hang in there and rock that quit!
  10. Yeah, that's me. Eli short for Eliander and Leander, same. So cool you remembered! We also used the chatroom with Blacky to synchronize the dive bombing in the +1 -1 forum game. I don't think I've had such good laughs since! Yeah, I'll stick around for sure. Glad to see you are still smoke free and rocking it. P.S. Now that I thik about it, I should have used my old nick, I think I didn't because I didn't expect to find anyone known here. Let's see if there is a way to change it. P.P.S Oh, well changing it was easy. Here we go now, back in the old skin.
  11. Hi @johnny5 I remember the profile pic! We used to chat a lot, and with Nelsky, and a few others, I am trying to remember the nicks but it is not so easy. Forum was a great place to hang out and the only place I felt 100% understood and my pains shared. I'll have to check out this new place now and see if there is room for an old timer. For sure I remember the Sarge now! And there was a fish expert too, a bass hunter?
  12. Hi, I was a member of QSMB back more than a decade ago and with my quit birthday this week I decided to see if a replacement of the board exists. Not only that it does, but I also see many familiar faces. Glad to see that the forum has found a new place and that more and more people are jumping on the quit train. I quit cold turkey 11 years ago and have not been back to it. My life has changed so much for the positive that if I look back at it now, of all the things that I have done, all the achievemnets, I would say that quitting smoking has been one if not the most significant, positive changes I have ever done for myself. Love and peace to all!
  13. This could be because the brain wants nicotine. It will throw everything it has at you to make you go back to smoking? When I quit, I developed a swing of emotions that for a moment I thought I became bipolar. Depression to high excitation. Nicotine changes the hormones of the body and when you quit they are readjusting. Imagine going through puberty again. You just lost your closest friend-cigarettes. You are mourning. In fact, I would find it highly unusual if you didn't go through some sort of mourning or depression after you quit. Focus on the positive, quitting will bring you so many positive things you had and exchanged for smoking, a few days of feeling down is totally a fine price to pay.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
