  1. Thank you! I can't believe it's been three weeks all ready, but I'm so glad I'm doing this! I know I will have many more challenges along this journey, and that's ok. One day at a time, keep on marching!

  7. Wait... the next one isnt the mid-season finale??? GAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! I don't wanna wait until Feb.
  8. Not to mention the social situation's I avoided because I did not want to give up being able to smoke for a couple hours. Or the times I went anyway and took a smoke break and wound up getting the look from everyone else because when you go back to the socializing you stink. Sad, embarrassing and lonely indeed.

  10. Welcome!! This is a great place, everyone here is very supportive. Read as much information as you can! Think long about your reasons to quit smoking, and come up with a plan for what to do when cravings hit. You can do this! ETA: My husband quit with me and he used to dip and smoke. In the past he had quit smoking by relying on the dip like you did. This time he quit the dip first, and we have 20 days under our belts!

  12. Im super excited too!
  13. For years I hated being a smoker, and kept doing it because I was afraid not to. The second someone would mention quitting I would go into panic mode and go have a smoke just to make sure they were still there. I'm not sure what changed this, but somehow I mustered a good feeling about quitting. Instead of being afraid, I feel like I am challenging myself and winning. :D

  19. Welcome! This is an awesome and supportive group. I'm still new myself but it has been immensely helpful to have these guys to turn to and learn from.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
