How many members here actually like H.S. football?
As most of you know, I was blessed with 4 daughters ...so...even though I tried to interest them in things that interest a lot of Dads ...sports, vintage cars (mustangs in particular) fishing ect, I really didnt have much luck...the only sport they (my oldest 2)were interested in school was Cross country and track..and I must say they were pretty good...how-ever, they were "girly girls" ;) and when the second oldest one made the cheer-leading squad...the younger 2 were quite skilled when they became old enough to try out..So...Jenni started cheerleading in Jr. high (middle school to you younger crowd..lol)..in 1992....and of course continued until her Sr. year...then, with the younger ones also cheering for 6 years (each)....I had a cheerleader at some grade level from 1992 until 2007 when the youngest graduated...(for me) thankfully ..none of them had the desire to cheer in college!..
Which all that translates into...I think for approx. 15 years, I didnt miss a sporting event at our local school. In those years our sports teams had won state titles in wrestling and Football...made final 4 in boys basket ball...various state champs in track etc...
My favorite..by far..is football...Our program is pretty successful and most years they make the play-offs. When the girls were cheering, it was great!..Dont get me wrong...I complained about al the running around at the time, but looking back, a lot of memories were made traveling across the state on a Friday night hoping the girls and their friends (football team) would win and advance to the next round...we are from a small town, so "everyone" was there...it was a standing joke that the last person to leave for the game, was responsible for shutting off all the lights in town as they left.
well...all this leads up to...last night was an "alumni cheerleading" night...cheerleaders from past years were invited to the game to cheer for a few quarters...well..My 3 girls (and some of their friends) got together and made it home for last nights game...This was the only time all 3 girls have cheered together...(Jenni is now 34 and the youngest..Kristin... is 24)..
Some of the granddaughters were also there to see "mom" cheer...the girls dressed them in some "vintage" cheerleading tee shirts they still had..lol...I suspect that I will soon be traveling the state to watch GRANDAUGHTERS cheering on their team :)
Here is a few pics from last night....
Future cheerleaders!
The 3 girls before the start of the game...

which now brings up the original question....How many of you guys/gals enjoy High School Football?
(I am a huge Ohio St. Buckeye fan also...)
