  6. Thanks Everyone!! I was pretty busy yesterday and didnt get a chance to even play games ;) , let alone check into here....and there was a point today at work, I logged on from my phone and seen all these replies, but there was NO WAY I would be able to respond to sooo many! I REALLY DO thank all of you...the journey (seemed) impossible on the first couple days...but with the support of so many people, It was made so much more "doable" next month at this time, I will already have posted pics from the lido deck (boat sails in 2 weeks! ;) ) THIS GROUP ROCKS !!!!
  7. Im sorry Wendy...I really meant it as encouragement...not a scolding.. I REALLY am happy for you... I will try to be more careful how I "type" things...I guess I need to re-read before i hit post.... again..sorry, But congrats on your achievement...

  14. In the grand scheme of things, I owe my quit to my girls...lets face it...anything that affected me negatively, also affected them..and the last thing any of us would want to do is hurt the ones we love... This,I believe,we all have in common...we do it for ourselves, but with others in mind, as beneficiaries. But ..aside from that, who was instrumental in helping you "understand" what it took to quit. I suppose I mean from one of these support boards.. I dont know how many of you received much support from friends and family early in your quit, but in reality, I didn't...non smokers have NO IDEA whats involved with ending this addiction, and if it wasnt for some great people of this(and other) boards I am not sure I would be getting ready to celebrate 11 months free. There is always someone who sticks out from the crowd who ,for one reason or another, stuck out as someone who made it "click" for you. For me , it was Jenn and Debbie...I dont know...they were almost like a "team" for me...they were so positive in what they said, it wasn't like they tried to make ME believe something..I could tell THEY believed it!They were (are) strong.. (and I thank them  ) Dont get me wrong...there is a multitude of others that play a part in my quit...from some of the more recent "quitters"...to most (if not all) the long term "quitters".. Everyone here plays a part, and has advise we can all benefit from...but.. For the NEWBIES out here listening to me ramble...I just want to say "listen close"...we all have something to offer, but it may just be that one bit of information or advice from someone who makes it "click" for you...

  19. last year our youngest daughter came home while we were working, and sent us these pics...the Bischon wasnt too happy...lol I cant say the beagle was happy about being a pumpkin either ;) I dont think Kristin realized how much weight her beagle gained after she left for college...lol .
  20. ok...reviving an old thread...and I know its not Thursday for most of you, but in my little corner of the world I am pretending it is...lol...and, this is hardly a "throwback" but an old pic none the less :) This was taken when my 2 younger daughters were in College and their respective football teams played each other (2008?)...Our whole family met for a tailgate party and went in to watch Bowling Green kick Kent States @ss (Sorry MQ!) ..anyhow, paying tuition to both schools, I was unsure of who I wanted to win :P ...so I downloaded the logos and such and made my own sweat shirt...had to give both schools equal time...no favorites ;) this is me posing with both daughters before the game ...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
