  1. @Arnolder Hey. I'm the same today. I've had days where I feel great and doing things all day. Then days like today where I just feel like sleeping all day. Our bodies are just trying to readjust to life without inhaling chemicals. Just have to push through and keep telling yourself better days are coming!
  2. @Arnolder Still going strong. Cravings are getting fewer and far between. Also, less intense for the most part. It's all about your mindset. Stay positive and push through. One minute, one hour, one day at a time until we get to weeks, months, and years. We got this!
  3. @Stewbum I'm using the Smoke Free app. It has a timer/day counter, ticker for cigs not smoked, money counter, and tracks the health benefits you are gaining back. Even has a diary to track cravings and an AI quit coach. Pretty cool app. Thanks for the welcome. Appreciate it. Here's to day 5!
  4. Anyone have dreams about smoking when they first quit? I know vivid dreams are a thing with wearing patches. Had a dream last night that I was telling everyone I quit, but was sneak smoking. It seemed so real! When I woke up I had that feeling that I relapsed. The mind really is a crazy place. Lol. After I got my bearings I was good and the day hasn't been bad so far. Just weird experience. Here's to Day 4!
  5. Hey @DenaliBlues. Thank you. I definitely will be checking in. Same here with the lozenges. Using sugar free mints mostly. Driving is a big trigger for me. Use the lozenges usually when I'm driving so far. My mindset is definitely feeling stronger this time. The last time!
  6. Hey there. I'm only a few days in myself. I've done a good amount of research this time though. One of the main things is mindset. Try to get yourself to saying "I won't fail" or "I'll succeed" by the time your quit date comes. I know it sounds a little lame, but it works for me in other aspects of life as well. Keep repeating positive thoughts to yourself. Negative thoughts create negative outcomes. Hope this helps a little. Good luck on your journey.
  7. Thanks for the welcome. Talked to the doc a out the combo method. Because of how much nicotine I was already taking in he didn't seem to be concerned. The lozenges are only when a strong craving comes. So far, so good. I will monitor it though. I was at 2 packs a day! Can't believe I was doing that.
  8. Hi all. New to the site. Have had several quit attempts. Started last week and made it to day 3 before relapse. On day 3 currently of my 2nd attempt in 2 weeks. Day 3 sucks! Just trying to get out of my own head. Using combo NRT, patches and lozenges. So glad to have found this. So much for me to look at. It seems like it will be a huge help.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
