  5. It hit me hard last year. Not in menopause, but in perimenopause...on the road to the unknown and it sucks :-) I had a few symptoms but not all and I read up on the subject. The more I read the more confused I got..but two things were obvious. I didn't want to be on hormone patches or take estrogen and it affects woman differently. Every friend I talked to had a different approach, different symptoms and a different "cure".....but we all had one thing in common "we didn't like it". I found my "happy cream" a natural product with progesterone (more important than estrogen) I was skeptical at first but a believer after the second months. Look into the link I sent you.
  6. S.N.O.T. (Smoking is not an option today)
  7. had a good time reading all this, let me try to add it all up 1. Sex as distraction for cravings (does that mean every 20 min?????) and 2. are we going to add this to the Newbie pack? 2. Things get bigger after you quit smoking (and I thought it was only the cake) where did the link go Daisyjane, my husband was fascinated? 3. More urges ..(so....it's not just spring fever?) 4. Leanna lays face down in the ditch and Dentist Bills turn her on. 5. Women have noticed this particular side effect and enjoy it, men had no clue (as usual)! too funny!
  8. Oh Daisyjane..I wish I could tell you it would go away. I am married since 31 years, I love my husband, he is my best friend, soulmate, lover, husband.....the all in one deal! We are happy and we are still in love...go figure! I am 51 and he is 2 years older. I am a down to earth person, very balanced, very happy and mostly in a good mood. This however changes in the minute I think my husband might be sick. He was in a harmless car accident a while ago, nothing dramatic happened, but still he ended up in the Emergency room. You should have seen me. I was yelling at nurses, pushing people to the side...I was a nervous wreck, willing to punch anybody and everybody who didn't answer my questions quickly enough. There is this voice in my head....what if something happens to him. How would I ever go on? I am financially independent, have my own business....but that's not what I am talking about. I could not imagine my life without him. Sure, we all go on one way or another...I know that. The question however is if you want to. My wish is we die of old age, in our sleep in the same night. Not very realistic of course and I know that. We just quit smoking and the thought "how much damage is done " comes to mind. Let's face it, I smoked for 35 years, chances that I will pay the ultimate price....well they are high. For me and for my husband, he still smokes. I fine with it for myself, but the fear of losing him is very real and intensifies with each passing year. The wave of anxiety in our neck.....over rolling us like a big wave, it won't stop...Why, because we love him! I would bet we both would still feel the same if we would have never smoked. The fear would be the same....we would still be scared s***less! I don't have an advice...I just let you look in my life and my heart so that you know you are not the only one :-)
  9. I did :-) a serious complaint about lopsided journalism :-)

  17. well not by them,.....but by me in a comment :-) They had a big article in the New York times (again) today about e-cigarettes new regulations and I wrote a comment and mentioned the quittrain....they didn't take it out :-) The have so many smoking articles (Boston Globe as well and others) everything about the Tobacco Industry and products costing Millions...Where is the article about "where to go if you want to quit"??? Where are the articles about free help and support???? Maybe I write to the Editor hmmmmmmm
  18. So true...I went to an Irish pub with a friend of mine (who doesn't know anything about Europe) and he just loved everything and he said "I love the English"...I went to the Ladiesroom, I figured it was the safest place to be! :-)
