well....I agree! A quit buddy of mine (ksmedic where are you) and I we had our own rant section going on via PM's that would have you rolling! We had days when we were so angry .......we just didn't want to see glitter or unicorns. He send me a PM with his own version of greeting Newbie's I almost wet my pants, I laughed so hard. I miss him I hope he is OK! If he comes here then we might be able to post it in the "hidden section". I am really glad you are here. You are a straight shooter and you would get set my head straight with a few line...if I need it! So, yes Aine is nicer (you made it sound like it was a question) but you are needed too!

Hello Juan.....nice to meet you! You are very young...I smoked longer than you are alive and I could quit.....and so can you! Think about it! You don't want to smoke as long as I have? And then you sit there and wonder what price you will have to pay......... I posted a "Good Morning to Evelyn" and if I would know how to change a title I would change it to "Good Morning Evelyn and Juan". Quit.....and enjoy your life smoke free! I could do it....that means everybody can!
-
Hi Scott....so good to see you, have you made the Ladybugs yet ?

Ladybug replied to Nolongerhere's topic in Introductions & About Us
well my friend, I am glad to see you here :-) -
I always taste smoke when I cough. ..I don't cough often anymore, but when I do I cough "stuff" up and it tastes like metal or smoke!

This was my quit-guide! A friend sent it to me and it helped me a lot, maybe it will help you as well! I called it my A/B/C's and D'S The A's: •Avoid situations you know you cannot handle •Alter your response - change the flavor of your coffee, sit in a different room, meet your friends in a neutral (nonsmoking environment) •Accept that some days will be tougher, and that by sticking it out you will get stronger. The B's: •Believe in yourself....you can do this. •Behave! You don't have to be a total brat....it's not going to kill you. The C's: •Cope with it and write down how you feel. •Calm down. There is no reason to panic you don't need cigarettes. The D's •Delay your next craving for as long as possible by: •Distracting yourself - keeping busy is extremely important. Go for a walk, or pull out your guitar. •Drinking lots of water or some herbal teas, keep it in your mouth for a while, enjoy the sensation. Chewing gum can help too. •Deep breathing. An easy way to relax. You might have done this 200-300 times per day when inhaling smoke. Emergency Coping Plan: AVOID the situation. Identify the situations when you normally smoke or chew, or feel cravings. For most, high-risk situations include work breaks, finishing meals, having coffee or being in a bar. Plan how you will avoid these situations for a few weeks. Plan for alternate activities. LEAVE the situation. If you find yourself in one of these high risk situations, leave if you can. And, leave before you get a craving. DISTRACT yourself from the craving. If you find yourself in a situation you can't leave and you get a craving, distract yourself from the craving by: Thinking about something else, like your Benefits of Quitting (or how much money you’re saving every week, how your body is healing itself). Doing something else to distract yourself like drinking water or deep breathing exercises. Thinking about an upcoming event in your life, such as a vacation. DELAY acting on the craving If you can't keep your mind off it, then make a deal with yourself that you will wait 5 minutes before you give into the craving. The craving will usually pass in a couple of minutes anyway. If you delay, the craving will go away. Use SELF TALK A craving may be accompanied by negative thoughts about your ability to resist it. Use positive self talk statements to combat your negative thoughts. Talk loud if you have to

I asked for a life long ban at the other forum today and got it. No more snake pit for me, they just got under my skin. Glad to see you....so..where is Aine, I like her better (just kidding). I tried to send you a PM and couldn't anymore. I asked in my last post if people would stay in touch with me (before I got the link to this forum), I stated that I would miss the "straight shooter's" and you are one of them, so I am glad to see you (Am I really telling Comrade that I am glad to see him? - I am more messed up than I thought I would be). Welcome.....please stay....wait go and get Aine

Oh Julie xxxxxx! They closed my all time favorite store, my chocolate store. It was the perfect store if you needed a present or you just wanted a truffle or something unusual made out of chocolate. I wish for a new chocolate store!
