  5. It probably is off the patent as patents usually last 15 years for the brand names and I used Chantix the first time I quit back in 2009. Back then it wasn't covered by insurance and cost about $130 a month from what I remember. It was extremely expensive but then insurance started to cover it after a while.

  13. I used it the first time I quit and it really was a wonder drug, it made me forget to smoke. I don't think it's available in the US anymore. I don't see it advertised on TV like it was years ago.
  14. Is this similar to what Chantix was? What are the side effects? Chantix had several including nausea, vivid dreams and some other really bad side effects.

  18. Ohhh that's for sure Doreen, we all wished we were free, and and regret smoking when we were smoking! I had a dream last week that I smoked a whole cig and then after I finished it, I was so pissed and upset. When I woke up that morning I wasn't sure if it was a dream or not, but then, when I saw that I was in bed, I knew it was just a dream! Thank God!!!! I honestly wasn't sure, if it were a dream or reality! Do you still get dreams where you are smoking after 10 years of being smoke free?

  20. Yes, he might be contemplating quitting. He sees you are doing ok with it, so he might get on the bandwagon as well. Yeah don't say anything and just see how it goes. Hopefully he will quit, be patient!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
