  5. I think most of the world was shocked and sad from what happened. Can't believe it's been 24 years. The time just goes so fast. Thanks!

  9. Yes I remember when the locals up in Gander opened their homes to total strangers. There are good people in this world! I saw the show on TV a few years ago. What a horrible day that was. I think everyone can remember what they were doing when the first plane hit. I just finished dropping my 2 boys at school and then I was on my way to school as well, and heard it on the radio. Originally they thought that it was just a small plane. When I got to class the professor said the South Tower just came down and that classes were cancelled. We were all in total shock. I drove home with tears in my eyes, I could barely see the road. What made it really eerie was that there was barely any traffic when I was going home which is totally unusual for that time of day. When I got home I ran over to the school to get my older son and my friend picked up my younger son. My husband couldn't get home until the next day as he worked in NJ and all the bridges, tunnels and trains stopped running. He saw the towers come down from his office. He was an OTC stock trader at the time and had to stay over at a co-workers house that night. My husband lost a few collogues who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald in the North Tower I believe it was and I lost someone who I used to work with who was also in the North Tower. It was a beautiful sunny day that day in NYC, just like it is today. I day we will never ever forget!

  11. Tomorrow, September 11th is a very horrible day for Americans and the Free world. I don't have to go through the details of September 11, 2001, we all know it! Myself and my family have been New Yorkers our whole life! It was a really horrible day, that day! Twenty four years have passed, and yes it has gotten a little easier for myself and my family, but not for everyone! My husband and I both knew a few people that have died that day. May their Memory be a blessing! Please NEVER FORGET!! The World Trade Center, the way I remember it!

  15. I definitely believe that the Train helped me get through all this. I really don't think I could have done it without all of your help. Yes, like @Reciprocity said, smoking is definitely more prevalent overseas than it is in the States and Canada. Hopefully we will get new members that stick around so we can help them!

  17. Absolutely! It definitely takes time for those withdrawal symptoms to go away, but they definitely do, I can promise everyone that. The trick is to just stick with it and don't have even one puff, NOT ONE!! It's not easy in the beginning, we all know that, but quitting smoking is so doable as all of us here can attest to! You can do it!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
