  4. For me the first month was the worst and after that the cravings started to ease up. Just don't smoke and it will get easier and easier. Of course, there will be challenges along the way, but the longer you stay quit, the easier they will become. I know that in the beginning of my quit I was very impatient and wanted the cravings to go away instantly, but unfortunately they didn't. I just had to bide my time. Now after a year and a half, I can honestly say that I rarely get any cravings anymore and if I do, they last a couple of seconds and then are gone. They aren't physical cravings but more of a mental craving. Just hang in there and eventually they will go away. You also won't be thinking of smoking every minute of the day either.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
