  1. Congratulations Johnny!!! That is so amazing!!!
  2. Yes, the first couple of months were torture for sure but now it's definitely not as bad thankfully!
  3. The 5 lbs is on top of about 30-35 lbs that I needed to lose before I quit smoking. The first time it was much easier for me to quit. I used Chantix and it made me forget to smoke. This time I did it cold turkey.
  4. Ohhh and another question, when you all first quit did you put on weight? I think I put on at least 5 lbs in the 5 1/2 months being quit. I have been doing a lot of snacking and I do try to eat healthy snacks, (apples, veggies, that sort of thing), but sometimes I eat crackers and chips. My husband buys them and my willpower isn't very good. Although maybe it is, because I haven't had a cig in over 5 months.
  5. The first month or so the cravings I got were in my mouth. It wasn't a pain, but it was a feeling in my mouth. Kind of hard to explain, but remember when you would smoke and put the cigarette in your mouth and the smoke would go over your tongue and into your mouth? Like my mouth and tongue wanted the cigarette again. Jill am I weird? LOL!!!
  6. If it's just a mental craving or thought, that I can deal with but the ones that I have been getting are physical. I'm just glad they don't last very long like in the beginning.
  7. Thanks everyone! I don't have patience, that is my problem...LOL!! Thankfully these cravings don't last very long and I really am looking forward to the day when they are completely gone!!
  8. OK, I have a question folks....when do the urges Stop? I know everyone is different and, I know it hasn't been that long for me, only 5 1/2 months, but I am still getting cravings at least once a day. Is that normal? Not all day cravings, but it happens once to twice a day, for maybe for a couple/few minutes, and frankly, it's very annoying!!! I don't want these cravings at all!! I want to be done with them and cigarettes!!!! For those of you, who have been quit for say at least 2-5 years, do you still get these cravings every day?? If you do, how do you deal with it? These cravings, even though they aren't lasting long, are really getting on my nerves!!! I WANT THEM GONE!!!! GO AWAY!!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
