  1. Hahahah. Love it.
  2. Hhahahaha. Dyin.
  3. Imma apologize for not seeing any of this til now.
  4. Oh the WORST thing was that little unhealthy sounding crackle when I laughed really hard when I was a smoker. I made sure to only laugh hard around close friends. Near the end there, I started to feel a twinge in my left lung, and who knows I may not be out of the words yet, but feel 100% since quitting. Just goes to show you, as I was not a terribly heavy smoker (closet smoker constantly in withdrawal) you still get all the bad side effects!
  5. 30 min elliptical, 20 min kettlebell abs this am
  6. I'm glad to see you both!!
  7. I love this thread
  8. I watched the heck out of quit smoking vids when I quit and they helped so much. Made me feel more solid in my quit. Thoughts are not things, and you are doing wonderful Evelyn. We are here for you. :)
  9. Welcome Whack! We'd love to hear more about you and your quit. We are here to help :) I think that support makes all the difference in the quit.
  10. I have a bit of an issue with eating, esp. Since I quit. I try and tell myself to view it as fuel only, but it doesn't usually work! Work in progress still. On that note, better go workout. =/. It's gonna break my puppy's heart but she will have to live.
  11. Obsessed with HyVee salad bar.

  12. That's what I'd like to know!
  13. Not it...
  14. Jackie! Well done, well done. You make quitting look good. Great job, you are so much fun and so cute!
  15. Just started "dead spots" on audible. I so rarely read anymore - I'm all about the audibles. For shame. I spose when I say rarely, I'm down to reading about a book a week.
  16. It does happen! I thought for sure I'd die a smoker, that that was just my lot in life, but now I can't even really remember what it was like to smoke. And great job!
  17. Happy birthday Amy:)
  18. Working out has become a way of life for a lot of us ex smokers :). It's awesome.
  19. http://www.5-2diets.com/5-2-diet-fasting/ I made it Monday and today, and today I wasn't faint at all. I think I'm getting used to this. I would prefer not to discuss the cupcake I had last night though...
  20. Lace I find that sometimes just having a good cry helps. So long as you are not at your desk at work, which is where I am seem to be bawling. I always tell myself 'this too shall pass' and it always does.
  21. Right on Tiffany!
  22. Sandy you are right where you need to be :) You're handling things swimmingly.
  23. I thought kindle unlimited would help me not to buy any other books =/

I know :( It's "good cause" knitting though. I make chemo caps and donate them to the local cancer center and the Ronald McDonald house.

Ohhhhh. Well then that trumps reading.

  24. Hi Roland! Welcome. Every one of us has been where you are. We understand completely. Please take some time to watch the videos and read the articles, they are immensely helpful. Being around other ex smokers I have found makes all the difference for me. None of us are alone in this. At this point in my quit I strongly feel there is not one situation there would prompt me to pick up another cigarette. Quitting is so worth it. Not always puppy dogs and rainbows at first for all of us, but totally manageable. Congrats on a very awesome, very important decision to take your life back.
  25. I hate to say it, but I've kind of replaced smoking with drinking coffee. For me, it helps. Bouncing off the walls 24-7.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
