  1. Thanks peeps :) I'm celebrating at work. Time for lunch run!
  2. Great job! You've proven it can be done ☺
  3. Nope!
  4. Rowdy you have come so far and had so much success. Great job to you!
  5. Right on J!!
  6. I didn't take pictures, but imagine quarter pound of 3% ground turkey, green onion, mushroom, & fresh jalapeños. Side of roasted cauliflower and mushrooms (drizzled with 1 tbsp olive oil.) That's what hb made for dinner.
  7. Welcome. You should be sooo proud of yourself for quitting. You are in the right place, no matter what you go through, at least some of us here will be able to emphasize with. We are here to listen, and to help. Not doing this alone made all the difference in the world to me. Glad you found us. :)
  8. Hey that is one way to do it!! And calorie free too, so you very well may be onto something.
  9. Awwww Sandy great job. You have done brilliantly, and been an inspiration to so many of us as well.
  10. Thanks cpk!! Lovely to see you as well, you know who you look like? Natalie Merchant (well, what Natalie Merchant looked like back in the day.) Was almost 22 years ago for my mom and 5 years ago for my dad. So it's been a while. This here is Cocoa, the good dog. Solange (not pictured) is my demon dog, about 10 months old, a brown and white Boston.
  11. Both of my parents smoked, to the day they passed. Sigh.
  12. Yes!! I knew you had it in you. Proud of you.
  13. Doreen I'm sorry to hear that. It's crazy what kind of hold this addiction can hold. Robs people of their loved ones.
  14. I stopped coughing almost to the day that I quit. So it's different for everyone. :)
  15. Don't I wish! Also, Chrispy I just finished TWD on Netflix.
  16. First off, congrats!! This is quite possibly the best decision you will ever make. Welcome, you are amoung friends, we have all been exactly where you are. You will find tons of support here.
  17. **Voting with go through Friday the 27th.**
  18. What series on Netflix should I start next? No aliens on the moon crap please, hb watches that already. Or Burn Notice where the dude is constantly eating yogurt. zzzz. I will watch the one that gets the most recommendations. I'm trusting you guys here....
  19. K, finished season 4 on Netflix, hb and I agreed to buy season 5 on amazon. Wowee.
  20. They just arrived at terminus and I'm beside myself. Help.
  21. Tracey you rock! Well done. So glad I get to know you :)
  22. If you can do 25 days, you can do ANYTHING. There is almost nothing I guarantee in life, but I guarantee that it does get better. For some of us, we had to stay diligent and keep our eyes on the prize for quite some time before it no longer became an issue. Every day got better and better though. And it will for you too. They told us no one could succeed at quitting, the success rate was so low, why even go through the trouble to try? What. A. Bunch. of. Phooey. It was all designed to keep us trapped, killing ourselves, and paying the big tobacco fat cats handsomely to do ourselves in slowly. Keep hanging in there, and remember how good you have done, and how good you will do. No one wants to be a smoker.
  23. That is awesome Babs!! You look sooooo good too. You are the poster example of success for inspiration to everyone, in quitting smoking and getting fit (amoung other things). I do eat - too much - idk why it's called fast - it's not like the 'fasting,' it's like losing quickly. I am allowed 1150 cals per day. Which I honestly often struggle to stay under. But some days I burn over 900 cals in the gym. (Not always, but sometimes.) Plus yesterday I decided to have cheat nights on Sat nights now, and had chicken strips and chips and salsa last night. Followed up by cupcakes. I will see how it effects my next weigh in, if it sets me back, then I will have to say I've learned my lesson. They are very clear you are not allowed any cheats on this program. But I really struggle to stay on 24/7. Anyway. Yeah, MQ I stand by my original statement that you never listen to me. ((Rolling eyes)) I would not want to eat chicken and broccoli all day long. Nuh-uh.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
