  1. We are good girls.
  2. K I'm in, I want abs like sarge. Bring it!
  3. Wowed Sarge! I'm in Babs (maybe) How's that for wishy washy. Sarge is right thou abs are made in the kitchen first and foremost. (I miss you cookies!)
  4. Awwww. This. Is why we keep paying it forward. I figure I was helped sooo much, if I could give back even enough to help one person save their own life, it's all worth it. And also I just love the people here. We are all together in this. Cpk, you have already started, you are inspiring others!
  5. Urban Fantasy :)
  6. You got the right idea! Just do as much as you want to. There are no hard and fast exercise rules :)You have the right mentality and you are right where you need to be.
  7. Podcasts are so grest. I like UF and paranormal mostly.
  8. Once it gets going it's hard to turn off. Takes a bit to paint the picture at the beginning, like most beginnings though I guess.
  9. This is what I likened many aspects of quitting to (I was prepared for the worst since my crumby attitudes on previous attempts made those attempts not so much fun, and not successful):
  10. It's sooo good. You will love. Hey, how come my zombie podcast thread no one cares about but there are 5 pages 50 Shades of Grey?
  11. Woo hoo high school graduates
  12. Welcome back!
  13. "Serial" came highly recommended so I listened to that one first. Not bad. Then I went onto (which I'm currently on) "We're Alive, a 'zombie' story of survival." And it's gotten realllly good. Anyone else listen to podcasts?
  14. Great job Kristin, it's so good to see you succeed like this. That is how it's done. Congrats!
  15. Happppy birthday!
  16. Yeah, now that you mention it, me too.
  17. I think the relapse statistics are like self fulfilling prophesies. (That I bought into for 20 years.) "If no one else can quit why in the heck would I be special and be able to beat it?" But I have seen so many quit and stay quit here, I know it can be done. I know now that the successful ex-smoker doesn't make anyone, big pharma or big tobacco, any money. They want us to believe it is too hard, it can't be done. To keep on trying half heartedly, and handing over the cash just to relapse yet again. But it doesn't have to be this way.
  18. I had this weird pain in my back that seemed to never go away when I first quit, that I thought for sure was terminal. I asked Babs about it several times and she was quite patient with me. And lo and behold, it didn't kill me
  19. cpk I completely understand where you are coming from, at first that didn't sit right with me either. I thought, how in the world could Joel know a, b, and c. But the more I researched the addiction (knowledge truly is power) I found that his messages were spot on, despite him never having smoked. Another thing I did, that was kind of creepy in a way, is I'd watch youtube videos of smoker's cough. To reiterate to myself how I didn't want to end up.
  20. I know what you mean. I was kidding last night and said I should have been a UFC fighter but I instead I smoked. Here's the good news: it's never too late to change. To tap into that potential inside of you. Exercise was one of the main reasons I quit because I started getting tired more and more easily. That was one of things that was also improved almost overnight when I quit.
  21. Exercise will help everything. You don't have to run a marathon, just get the heart rate up!
  22. I hate to sound like a broken record, but Allen Cart, Allen Carr! I never posted an SOS, but you bet your bippy that I had a ton of them. The Audible version I'd use the most, whenever I felt like I was missing out or the void inside got too uncomfortable. He always comforted me, and I was a mess for a stretch after I quit. You can do this and you do want to! That junkie can just be loud sometimes. Keep posting! It means your head is still in the right place. Reaching out is s good thing. Well done.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
