  1. Tired and irritable is totally normal right now. The only thing that will make all that go away is not taking any more puffs. The early days can be somewhat of a challenge for some of us, but it is totally doable, and soooo worth it. ^_^
  2. Please feel free to post whenever you want. That is what this site is for. Smoking is not glamorous at all eh. No matter how many times we tried to convince ourselves otherwise. Really think back, even to the early years of smoking, were you ever proud to be a smoker? I never was. I just tried to overcompensate in other ways to make up for that downfall about myself. Sad really. So much time wasted on this dirty addiction.
  3. Yikes! I can't remember what day I'm on but I did the 50 today
  4. I just looked at the prices and my eyes about popped out of my head. My dermatologist always says nuetragena is as good as a anything else out there. I use aveeno lately. But I use a really high sunblock instead of a moisturizer. Then a primer. Anyway.
  5. I chewed on cinnamon gum all the time too. Hot tamales has a sugar free one you can get on Amazon.
  6. ouchhhh babs. You ok?
  7. The anticipation is killin me
  8. Lol@American style BBQ. Is England really like it's portrayed in Bridget Jone's Diary?
  9. A lot of us turned to cigarettes for (false) comfort. That was one of the things that terrified me before I quit, 'how would I make it through the day without them'? What are some things you guys use instead now? I like YouTube guided meditations. Tons to chose from.
  10. Welcome Joy! Congrats on a great decision. We have all been exactly where you are, and are here to help in any way that we can. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. Tell us a little about yourself. You might have a bit of work to do in getting free of this horrible addiction, or it may be super easy for you as it has been for some. (I was somewhere in the middle, I expected h*ll on earth, so when it wasn't that bad, I was pleasantly surprised.) Regardless, your life will change in so many positive ways now. I am excited for you :girl_pinkglassesf:
  11. I am so late on everyone's congrats. Dang it. Gabby, you are awesome. I am so happy for you. At my 9 months - I hadn't *totally* shut up that junkie, but he kept quiet most of the time. Then slowly...he slinked away and I didn't even see him leave.
  12. Two weeks under your belt. That means you have done what we all feared could never be done. Well done to you Ricki. Very well done.

  15. Wow! Time flies. You should really be patting yourself on the back. Sometimes at first it can seem daunting, but it's just at first. Every day gets better and better. Just remember to wake up every morning and think, "Yippee! I'm a non smoker." No matter how silly it feels. Give yourself positive reinforcement. You are really doing this!
  16. Evelyn, I think you may be the best example of success there is... I am so happy for you!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
