  1. Yay!! Congrats Karl. You have done SO well. Be proud.
  2. Right on Mr. Balls! I drag along my 25 year old never smoker running partner. The topic of smoking has never come up. But she says her goal is to someday keep up with me. That said, the 5 miles yesterday were hard ones. Some days it just doesn't flow.
  3. :'-( You are an amazing woman that deserves freedom, health, and happiness. Smoking takes all that away. Get back on this train!
  4. Marti you are amazing, in so many ways. Congrats on well deserved freedom!
  5. Oh my gosh...you are such a smart Alec. P.S. I am secretly Buffy.
  6. I would love to help....pepper?
  7. This.
  8. I am glad to see some new quitters around! If I could but fast forward them a bit into the future, healthiness and happiness await them.
  9. Sonic every time I turn around you are killing it! Couldn't be happier for you my friend.
  10. Be careful thou! But sometimes I feel running is the only thing that keeps me sane
  11. If you can do 19 days you can do anything! It may not always be puppy dogs and rainbows at first, but it's sooo worth it. Stay strong, focused, and be VERY proud of yourself. Take a deep breath and think of all the smoking caused illnesses you no longer are actively inviting. And what a weight of your shoulders that is!
  12. Nothing short of amazing! :)
  13. I didn't see your post, but so long as you're good I'm satisfied. I didn't think you would need to SOS but I hate to assume for anyone. Help is for everyone whether one day or ten years quit in my opinion.
  14. Great job! How are you?
  15. If you were posting an SOS talk to us! You know better than most of us there is nothing, but nothing worth lighting up for. We got your back!!
  16. When I was a new quitter I was a bit shy about posting. What I didn't realize at the time is that there is nothing anyone wants to do more than help you with your quit here. This is the place where your quit is super important to us too. We know it's a big deal. Posting helps, it's a way to release pent up emotions while you are wrapping your head around the fact that yes, you are really taking your life back. In my experience, the more you post, the more chances of success you will have. Look around - living proof that you absolutely can beat this. Previous to my quit, the statistics that I'd heard of people successfully quitting made me believe that I would not be in the small percent that could do it. It's absolute phooey that it can't be done, the ex smoker doesn't make the fat cats in big tobacco any money. A lot of people make a lot of money by making sure smokers believe it's impossible to quit. You CAN do this. Life is 100x better free from addiction.
  17. Holy crow I didn't know Dolly posed!
  18. Beautiful! You are lovely, inside and out. So happy for you. :)
  19. It's funny you should bring this movie up, I very rarely watch movies, and when I do it's even rarer that it's a romance type. Anyway, I found this on Netflix and gave it a shot. I thought it was amazing. Sobbed right on through the second half of it. Now you are making me want to read the book!
  20. Don't be jealous MQ. You gotta know how to schmooze these authors. It may take months or years, but eventually you get a 3.99 book free of charge like a week earlier than the rest of the world. In exchange for looking for typos, anything that doesn't make sense, and writing a review. It's a lot to be jealous of.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
