  1. 80 calories per slice? Now you are talking. Looks very tasty too. Last night I had a half cup of ff vanilla yogurt and cut up some maraschino cherries and mixed them in. So good!
  2. Leek. I have often wondered what people put that with. Frozen fish, salad with low fat French dressing that is really quite good, and 1/2 cup of boxed mash potatoes. All in all, I rather enjoyed it for (shhh) diet food.
  3. That is tooo funny. I thought my Monday was chaotic!
  4. I kept a post it note in my wallet for a long time that simply said: "get to" vs. "have to" smoke. Now the post it I carry in my wallet is the wifi password at my gym. And to me, that is progress that makes me happy.
  5. Beacon, all my closest friends still smoke. I know what you are talking about. If only. We could make them understand without alienating ourselves from them. I am sorry she is going through this and I will be thinking of you guys and sending good vibes. Just keep doing what you are doing. being there for her. Remember to take care of yourself too!
  6. Good to see you and so happy to hear you are doing it! We are here to cheer you on, for you to vent to, you name it. Every one of us has been right where you are. It's not all peaches n cream right at first, but it's not nearly as bad as a lot of things. Everyone is different but your smoking symptoms will start to fade very soon after you put out the last one. Near the end there, I'd feel twinges in my lungs at night on the right side. Lemme tell you, scary stuff. And I felt so helpless to stop. I am so very, very glad that I did. I know you will be too :)
  7. I decided about 2 weeks before I quit to do it. The anticipation was WAY worse than the actual quitting, so I am glad for you that you are choosing a day in the very near future. Once you quit and 'take smoking off the table as an option' it's done. No more inner debate. Sure, it's not the easiest thing in the world but it's totally doable. And how great to get that monkey off your back again. Welcome and congrats!
  8. I gotta start running again. Like asap.
  9. A lil blast from the past in congratulations.
  10. Great job. And many more to come =)
  11. Absolutely fabulous! Very happy for you.
  12. Just the beginning of freedom for you! Well done. If you can get through the first month, well you can do just about anything.
  13. Excellent! Well done! So happy for you and the hb, DJ
  14. Fear kept me from even contemplating quitting for the longest time! Grab yourself a copy of Allen Carr, and start a life without the horrors of tobacco.
  15. Oh girl, your post brought tears to my eyes. I'm sorry I'm so late reading this. I started smoking in earnest the night I found out my mom had been killed. It took a good FIVE years after until I didn't feel completely alone in the world. Nothing changed in my life at that 5 year mark, just time had passed. You never get over it, you just get used to it. I never wanted children...sometimes I wonder if my mom's death has more to do with it than I care to admit. It sucks! I am sorry, I can only say I empathize, and if it's any consolation, smoking doesn't help even though we used to think it did. It Doesn't. We are all here for you!
  16. That is an awesome quit and so glad to have you Becca. All are welcome :) Please feel free to post as often and you like.
  17. Shawn T is a freaking maniac. (Jump! Jump!)I do like his ab workout. My heart will always belong though to 1) Jillian 2) Bob.
  18. I wish I could post a fun pic but I'm on the iPad. Someone will post something cute n I'll quote it ;–)
  19. In case I don't get here in the morning, 4/7 is your day! Congrats on a solid 9 months in the bag. Thanks for all you do for everyone, and huge props to you.
  20. And might I add - if you are thinking about quitting, but the thinking about it alone scares the heck out of you, you do not have to be quit to join. I think we could help ease some of the fears. No one has to go this alone!
  21. Beacon you are awesome! Very well done.
  22. 2 months is awesome! Very well done.
  23. I often thought it was 'impossible' for me. That I was just one of the unfortunate few that could not get away from it. So glad I stopped listening to that junkie!
  24. Dang, not on Netflix!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
