  1. Both? JK!!Love the new profile pic, you are just cute.
  2. I have an old school kindle and an iPad. Very rarely use the iPad for reading (only use when an author sends me an ARC that I can't download on kindle. Some perks to being a fan girl.) Kindle all the way!
  3. Colleen, I have never been a wheezer, I think I just hit it too hard. More of an 'get your butt back in gear' wheeze. By rights my stamina is a whole lot better than it should be considering 20 years smoking. Scott, 1-3 months before completely healed and 20-20 vision is the time frame. But I am about at 80% now I think. I have worked out every day since Thurs (not super long work outs, but I wanted to get away from that), so I think it's going ok on that side.
  4. I wish everyone who wants to quit smoking gets past the fear that kept me smoking for so long. When I was a smoker and in withdrawal, I'd sit there and think 'no way can I quit, I would climb up the walls.' There will be times you have cravings at first, but it's so temporary. It's such a feeling of freedom not to be chained to cigarettes. A whole different life, really. It makes every part of your life better. To think, I was scared I couldn't survive happily without smoking. Turned out to be quite the opposite.
  5. I just checked - it doesn't currently, but they get new stuff all the time. They just got House MD and it seems to be constantly playing in our kitchen. It's a quiet rainy afternoon, good time for Ghost Adventures marathon.
  6. No way today. No way. Off to kettle bell work out instead.
  7. TPAM has a gorgeous head of hair.
  8. ((quietly sneaking out))
  9. Oh my. I think I sabotaged my previous quits with all of those. Before I understood this addiction. Now, every now and again I think about it, but I can honestly say I can't REMEMBER exactly how it felt to smoke. I honestly can't. I just tried and it's gone. And good riddance!
  10. Tommy congrats! 6 months? You got this. You are free :)
  11. Me too! =)
  12. I got some of the beverages!
  13. Andrew that is amazing! You should be very proud of yourself. Just very well done.
  14. Baffled, so happy for you =) Enjoy that freedom and thank you for all the kind words and encouragement you have given along the way.
  15. Treat! Fae or witch?
  16. Shoot Evelyn, I missed it!
  17. Who's bringing the coffee? I asked my hb today, 'do you think I drink too much coffee?' His response, 'most definitely.' But I only usually drink like 2-3 cups per day. They are big cups, but still.
  18. I like them! Can I add a Buffy ticker to the list?
  19. Nice not to have to worry about that type of thing anymore. Jonesing sucks! So glad we have pulled ourselves away from those types of behaviors.
  20. Hopefully I can post this - I'm very excited about a release next Sunday. Available for pre-order.
  21. My first weekend I was nervous, but just like everything about quitting, turned out I imagined it worse that it was. Posting helps, smokers and never smokers just don't seem to understand quite the same. We all had a first week :)
  22. Fay, well done. So happy to be on this journey with you.
  23. Going with Allen Carr's wisdom, we can get emotional because, when we were smokers, we'd have stress at the same time of almost constantly being in withdrawal. So we smoked, and the withdrawal was temporary relieved. Our brains clumped that withdrawal relief with stress relief. Weaved the two feelings together in our minds. But one really had nothing to do with the other. The good news is, all this is soooo temporary. If we can do it, you can do it too. Sending good vibes your way Juan. I know you are stronger than this!
  24. Thank you for all your enthusiasm and help on the site! My only question is, are you a cat, or are you an egg?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
