  1. What's on your wish list at this moment? I'm wishing we had mouthwash in both bathrooms so I don't have to hop back and forth. I brush my teeth in morn in guest bath b/c sonicare is so loud n don't wanna disturb hb.
  2. Won't be long now!! Great job to to you Colleen, thanks for all the inspiration.
  3. But...but... I never learned how to count.
  4. Amy - we are here for you. I know many of us thought there is no way in H-E-double hockey sticks we could quit. Girl, pretty much everyone who inhales nicotine gets addicted, not addictive personalities. It's the drug. But it's the FEAR that keeps us smoking, miserable addicts, terrified of being more miserable ex-addicts. Because we have been told over and over and over how hard it is to quit and how such a small % succeed. So long as we keep (literally) buying into than nonsense, we are lining some fat cat's wallet. It's not true. You are no different than any one of us. And if we can do it, for sure you can too. :) I want all the best for you, you don't deserve this torture. This video struck a real chord with me in the early part of my quit. I remember how scared I was at the very beginning. Not overnight, but quickly that fear disappeared. It does for us all :)
  5. I used to have the WORST sour stomach. Always felt queasy. Now I take the occasional tums but that is nothing compared to the way I used to live off of them. Seems like everything gets better when we quit :yu:
  6. Jingle Balls! For some reason, this picture reminded me of you All joking aside, HUGE congrats.
  7. I am so moved by all the responses in this thread. Soozie, we are rooting for you! Allen Carr audible helped me through more times than I'd ever care to admit. You deserve happiness, you deserve to be free of this horrible addiction. I loved what Paul said earlier. I did that too and it worked. Take smoking off the table. When it's off the table, there is no gut wrenching agony of "do I or don't I." You know that you don't. Here's a disturbing vid that I've peeked at a few times to remind me I'm doing the right thing:
  8. Awesome! I am so happy for you. You are an amazing person R!

Easily Easily 2 years behind in my reading. I just started reading my first book on kindle last night - finally off the audibles. I think I am seeing almost perfect!! Since the procedure was 3/7 it's about darn time. It was a tough, tough decision on what to read first. But I chose this one in honor of my queen Karina Halle. I have been saving it for a rainy day, well that rainy days is here :i-m_so_happy:
  11. Soozie, I just saw this, I must be blind. Hahah. I like your spirit and your tenacity! Great job to you madam!
  12. Let's all pile into Lisa's car and go see ourselves a show!
  13. Oh I just saw this. Yay!! Such good news. :)
  14. Great job Guy! You have such a positive attitude, just very well done.
  15. 1) I just ate asparagus last night. Pee is ok. 2) 60 lbs of strawberries? :preved: 3) Am I the only one who hasn't eaten rhubarb before? (I'm picturing Stephen King's "Thinner")
  16. George! Care to join me in a celebration dance? You are doing marvelous.
  17. DD! You, my dear, are fabulous.
  18. Thrilled to hear everything is going well! Thanks for checking in :)
  19. You guys are awesome. I am so thankful for the kind messages and the support. Congrats to us all in our earned freedom from the moment we put out that last cigarette. I never thought I'd see the day that I went a week, let alone a year, without smoking. Every struggle we can have along the way is nothing compared to the freedom of being a non-smoker. And today is the one year mark for my hb too, that old so and so ;-)
  20. Great, great job! Very happy for you. You got this!
  21. Great news! So glad to hear it.
  22. Hey ! How'd I miss this?
  23. :paratrooper: This one remind anyone else of Sarge?
  24. Oh! Oh, and this is like the coolest thing I have ever seen. Thank you thank you.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
