  2. Wow @Jordan7 that is awesome, big congrats to you!
  3. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/temporal-lobe-seizure/expert-answers/phantosmia/faq-20058131 I think this is correct, Covid-19 can cause Phantosmia. At least I think this is why I have it more so than from quitting smoking. I have been fighting since May of last year, Long Covid and it has been terrible (thought I was going to die or never get better). I did not start feeling better until I quit going to and taking the advise of regular Doctors. Started doing my own research and reading what the "ousted" Doctors were saying. Finally following some of their (non approved) treatment plans, I am finally on track to being myself again and feeling stronger every day. As the virus seemed to be jumping around creating havoc inside me, this is when I noticed the phantosmia. I will try to keep better track of when or if it happens again, now that I know it is a thing.

  5. Good morning - for me the 3rd and 4th day were the worst, I was set for the cravings to be way worse after that but it never happened. More like the cravings came at different times from different directions (triggers). These triggers I had thought I prepared for came from all unanticipated directions. All I had in the instant was a NOPE and mints which so far have been enough. At least until I make it back on board the safety and sanity of the Train. In Allen Carr's book (The Easy Way) he describes the big lie - which is the thinking that quitting is much harder than it really is, this is in line with my experience so far. You can do this, just believe in yourself.
  6. Yes - comes and goes like once every few days. Until I read your post though I was just imagining it. Like Gus, kind of a stale smoke smell, who knew it was a thing. And I grew up in Spanaway so am familiar with and miss the pine tree scent.
  7. @Molly2310 being here on the train with everyone is where you really need to be , especially early on in your quit. I have no words of wisdom except to say you can do anything except smoke right now. When I quit, I was watching the minutes, hours, then the days and now the weeks, sometimes back to days but seems to get easier with time. You are worth the struggle, stick with it, you no longer need to be a slave to nicotine.
  8. A big congratulations @Brioski for the courage to come back and start over again, that is awesome. Don't give up you are worth the effort and no longer a slave to nicotine. Wow great job!

-9 Good grief, nothing like an engagement to get the chicks all riled up. Congratulations @Katgirl

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
