What do we do now? -15?
  2. Way to go, Justin! I’m jelly. 31 days (your idea of a full month) is quite a milestone. Kudos, man.
  3. You guys are so kind and sweet As I’m encountering more day to day things that are “coupled” (ty for the word, blues) with smoking, I have to ask, what are some things people do aside from the norms of gum, walk, exercise, etc? Anyone practice lazy bones of just sitting on the couch and zoning out to reality tv? Just keep pushing yourself through chore after chore? I guess I have an ongoing task schedule going bc of all the boxes/stuff from my dads I’m still going through (which reek of Marlboro reds but it’s not disgusting to me for some reason, prob bc it reminds me of my dad and that wasn’t my brand). I have said out loud “I want a cigarette right now!!” But then my fiancé says no you don’t and I play a card game on the iPad and it’s over. Some triggers of mine have been cleaning or cooking, because after cleaning the bathroom, smoke..after laundry, smoke…cooking, smoke. It’s not so much I’m clenching at the teeth of not having one, but almost like a down and out, fuzzy/foggy, mundane existence right now. I have this straw air cigarette that a hypnotherapist gave me last year, although he didn’t help me at all, for $350, I guess I got this straw air cig that’s helping I think, I hope that’s ok to use, u think? Oh and I’m munching on stuff more than I’d like to admit (not corned beef n cabbage tho lol). have a good Thursday everyone B

  16. Thank you so much, guys. Not too familiar with how to work site so may have questions. Esp w games I’m afraid I’ll play them wrong lolol. Thank u all for being supportive. Feels good. It’s cool too to see your rectangle tickers/signatures at the bottom of your posts, never saw them before. think I’m gonna go for a walk down and up my driveway. This time of day, as well as morning, cooking, and driving, seem to gnaw at me. Just put two corned beefs in the oven, more for fiance bc he loves it (I’ve been too sick since st pattys day to cook it), I can definitely leave it, blegh. May make some pesto for myself to have instead. Anyone either love or despise corned beef and cabbage? thanks again for warm welcome
  17. Hello, quit train-ers I’m “new” to the official train but have been a lurker for around 1.5 years . I stopped smoking 8 days ago due to a 5 day hospital stay with pneumonia and oxygen for 3 of those days. While in there and before going home, I thought to myself I’d be pretty dumb to go back to smoking, especially being given the gift of pretty much being trapped in a room w/o option to smoke and get through the first few days of physical withdrawal. Then again, it was pretty dumb to think cigs helped through…everything. Waking up, going to sleep, getting ready to do the dishes, after doing the dishes, driving, etc. ironically the time I thought would be hard is easy (?) for me, after eating. I think I’m doing ok? Lol. My fiancé is amazingly supportive which I feel like I don’t even deserve, he quit in feb 2019 when I went to the er w breathing problems and it was anxiety w asthma. He quit that night then and there. I’ve been smoking 20 years, I’m 37 years old. Sorry if this post is all over the place. I’ve had quite the past few months. My Dad, best friend in the world, passed away in December from smoking complications/lung cancer, he was 67. It was the absolute worst seeing him go through that and I hope to the heavens he is breathing as clear as I’m getting to be now. Also, in the beginning of March, I discovered I was pregnant with 3 positive pregnancy tests, only to find out a week later that it was a “chemical pregnancy”, basically meaning no embryo forms and hcg levels go up (positive) and then down (negative not pregs). Then this health scare/hospital stay. Then quitting. Lol I swear I’m not trying to sound “woe is me” just a few weird big things to process. looking forward to getting to know u guys more and actually excited to play the games section of quittrain as I am no longer a lurker . take care all! B

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
