Good post Sharon! I think this is why the best thing anyone can do when having a crave is to wait. The chimp gets distracted (in about three minutes) and the human can take over.

How to eliminate the "constant battle"?

Time will end the constant battle. What helped me get some time was to not give smoking thoughts any time in mind. As soon as I had a smoking thought, I dismissed it. No discussion. -
