  19. Just want to +1 this point from Jo. The "one day at a time" strategy was essential for me for the first couple of months. Before I had really started to grasp the long term emotional and psychological aspects of recovery from nicotine addiction I couldn't conceive of "forever" - it made me panic. But I could do daily increments.
  20. This is a great pick @jillar, thanks for bumping it. This morning I woke up wanting a cigarette so badly that my teeth ached. Good to read this and remember that I truly don't wanna get trapped in this cycle again!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
