  1. In another month (April) I will be able to purchase a new recliner for my living room with money I have saved this month so far. And with money saved next month I will be able to get the 500 dollar recliner on sale for 350 dollars. Feels so good to actually not be broke before the end of the month.
  2. Gosh does this give me hope and the strength to carry on. Let's me see that things don't necessarily get good in a few weeks but it takes months of hard work. Must remember patience is my friend.
  3. Congrats and thank you so much for all your help and encouragement. So appreciated.
  4. Hope you get better real soon.
  5. Lol that post of yours KEL made my day..
  6. That's the way to do it Kdad. If they work for you that's a good thing. Hang in there and stay strong.

    Oh jillar

I had a Walmart grocery delivery this morning at 8am after being awake all night. Was super tired but I just wanted you to know in the order was a hugh container of those peppermint puffs you swear by lol. 200 of them. They seem to be easing the pain.
  8. No Kdad never used any NRTs but if you think it will help you to stay quit by all means use it. I hope you are doing well. Just get yourself in the right mindset and it will happen. By no means is it easy. Just keep saying nope. We just have to stay the course and eventually we will get more good days mixed in with these bad ones. I am routing for you
  9. KEL the remark truly stunned me. Cannot believe any doctor would make a remark such as that. Quitting smoking in no way is a punishment. Sorry you are going through some tough times besides your quit. I can see by your posts that you are a very strong person. You keep going as you are winning this battle. Stay strong.
  10. What a great quit. Congratulations

    Sleep

Hi Kris. Well this certainly is a work in progress. I did take a Benadryl the last two nights to try and get on some sort of sleeping pattern. It helped some but I still woke up around four. I did manage to get back to sleep but in the morning I still feel like I need more sleep. When I do get out I am going to get some Valerian as Kel suggested. In the meantime we are just going to stay strong and deal with the ups and downs coming our way. Just keep remembering all this is temporary. Stay strong
  12. Kdad I really don't have much advice to give you except to hope that this time you fight really hard for that sticky quit.
  13. Thanks everyone. Oh I am having a time of it today. Craves are strong at times but just having that first realization that there is some relief at times is so worth the effort
  14. Yesterday I got a bed frame delivered and decided to put it together. It's one of those frames where you don't need a box spring just a mattress on top. Well it took me two hours to finally get it right. Something a 10 year old could probably have done in half an hour. But when I finally finished and sat down I realized that the whole time I worked on that frame I never thought of a cigarette. That for me was a first. First time without the constant thought of cigarettes felt so good. So I got out of my pajamas today and decided to find things to do to focus on something other than smoking. Staying busy does help.
  15. Well done Sal and Anita. Congratulations
  16. What an awesome quit. Congratulations
  17. The OP makes alot of sense. For me one day at a time and the daily NOPE is the only thing that keeps me going at this early stage in my quit. At this point if I think too far ahead, panic sets in. So for now I will stay with what has worked best for me and stick with that. Right now I will continue to get by with daily NOPES and continue one day at a time.
  18. Unbelievable. I will deal with the craves.
  19. Hi Kdad so glad to see you back. You can do this. Stay strong

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
